Guest guest
http://www.drbob4health.com/HealthDisorders/Fibromyalgia.htm If you’ve been plagued with fibromyalgia and you’ve been gobbling up handfuls of vitamins (prescribed or otherwise), you may be making yourself worse. In a whole host of articles in past issues of Health Alert, I have continually noted that high doses of synthetic vitamins can induce powerful nutritional deficiencies or imbalances. In America today, everyone is on the "Super High-Potency B Vitamin" kick. At the same time, tens of thousands of Americans are joining the roles of fibromyalgia sufferers each year. Could the two be related? If you suffer from fibromyalgia and you want to know if synthetic vitamins are the cause, take this simple test: eliminate all synthetic vitamins for 30 days. If you don’t know which are synthetic, stop taking them all. Virtually all store-bought vitamins are synthetic or fractionalized (which are just about the same as synthetic). During this time take nine Cataplex B by Standard Process Labs to normalize any B vitamin imbalances you may have inadvertently caused. If you are markedly improved in 30 days, you have discovered the main cause of your suffering. Sugar And Allergies Two other main causes of fibromyalgia are the poor digestion and metabolism of sugar and food allergies. You can use the elimination diet or an IgG4 blood test to rule out food allergies. Eliminate sugar, both natural (sweet fruits and juices) and processed (cakes, pies, cookies, etc. etc.). Eliminating these two major causes of fibromyalgia in a 30-day test can be a major eye opener. Stiffness in the Morning If you wake up in the morning with a painful stiffness, your problem may be as simple as a bad bed. But it is more likely that you are suffering from a calcium metabolism problem, one that is almost epidemic in America. Its symptoms include kidney stones, arthritis, bursitis, cataracts, degenerative joint disease, fibromyalgia, and more. To test the morning stiffness and calcium connection, you will need to buy a bottle of Phosfood Liquid. This product from Standard Process Labs is taken 15 drops in water twice daily. It will supply a fraction of your daily need for organic phosphorus. Even though phosphorus is almost ubiquitous in your food supply, a calcium metabolism problem will throw off the balance between phosphorus and calcium. The main symptom is joint stiffness in the morning. Diet and Rheumatic DiseaseHaugen, M., et al, Clinical Rheumatol, 91;4:401-407 Questionnaires concerning the effect of diet on their symptoms were sent to 742 patients with a variety of rheumatic diseases treated at two Norwegian hospitals. Responses were received from 57% of the patients with psoriatic arthritis; 46% of those with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis; and about one third of those with osteoarthritis or primary fibromyalgia. Excluding those with osteoarthritis, one-third of the responders indicated their symptoms became worse after eating certain foods. Of the patients who reported having tried diet therapy, 46% said they had less pain and stiffness and 36% had reduced joint swelling. Although the article did not specify the foods avoided, it did indicate improvement with a "veggie" diet. Thanks to Dr. Larry Porter for providing us with this information. The clinical feed-back we have received indicates the foods most often involved in RA exacerbation are -–grains, (gluten), citrus juice, alcohol (especially wine), unfermented dairy products, foods in the night shade family, coffee, tea, chocolate, and in some cases shell fish and/or red meat.
