Ok, I got back into see my endo today. He said while I am now in

the hyper range, he wanted me to remain on the Synthroid for another

few months and see how it played out. I said no, I want to get

pregnant, it's not going to work. He agreed that I would not get

pregnant while hyper, and that we would discontinue the Synthroid.

He wrote me a script for Tapazole and I am supposed to start taking

it and come back in 4 weeks, to see what med and what dose I will be

on then. I am so confused.

Hi !

I am so sorry you are having to deal with the frustration and sadness of not

being

able to get pregnant. While your doctor says you will not be able to get

pregnant while

hyper, if you do go off the synthroid be sure to get checked out often because

being

hypoT can cause miscarriage......it happened to me. I wish for all good things.

Being slightly hyperthyroid (low TSH) due to medication is probably NOT

going to interfere with getting pregnant. Even when VERY hyperT

(vanishing TSH), it is still possible, although that can interfere.

Also, if his definition of hyperT is based on TSH alone, that will be

even less likely to interfere. I would be more concerned if you had

overt symptoms of hyperT.

It happened to me also, three times. I would go to a

thyroid specialist if I were you. I know how upsetting

your situation is for you, I've been there.

You really need expert help. If I needed the help now,

I would really research it on the net and find the

best authority I could. Good luck to you and your

husband.
