Guest guest
For euthyroid people at the correct dose, the half life is about 24 hours. A few hours long or short depending on if one is hypo, or hyper. Guest guest
It took me a while to re " discover " where I had found this information. If one were to do a google search with the following keywords " cytomel OR triiodothyronine OR t3 half life " one can discover a ton of ?information " with half life info that runs from 8 hours to 2.5 days. However, the information I finally went with is from the drugs.com web site: Thyroid Hormones (Systemic) http://www.drugs.com/mmx/liothyronine-sodium.html Scan down the post until you get to the header " Absorption " while will give you an absorption of about 95% for t3 (empty stomach no required). Then, two sections later under " Half-life " it gives the following: Liothyronine: Euthyroid: 1 day. Hypothyroid: 1.4 days. Hyperthyroid: 0.6 day. However, just to add to the " information " , on drugs.com they also have the following for Cytomel, a brand of T3. http://www.drugs.com/pro/cytomel.html Under the section " Pharmacokinetics " , it gives a biological half-life of 2.5 days. I find different biological half-lives touted from time to time where some of the breakdown products that are also biologically active are also considered as part of the half-life. In my experience, this way of determining half-life is quite inconsistent across " credible " information sources.
