Alison,

First let me say I am sorry you have had no success in treating your hypoT.

I have been Dx with HypoT and Hahsis since 2002.

I take traditional bio-identical hormone of Levoxl and Cytomel.

This gets my numbers where they need to be.

But‹it has done nothing, absolutely nothing for my overall well-being.

My weight and cholesterol and blood pressure continue to rise on just those

meds.

Three years ago I found a nutritionist who works in Wisconsin

and she also does phone consults and helps develop a regimen for you to heal

your body.

If you want her name please ask off list unless it¹s ok to post here.

She does hair and saliva testing for adrenals, thyroid, toxins and overall

cellular health and/or damage.

She ³treats² with herbs and supplements ‹ most from Standard Process

Company,

high grade herbs and supplments that are not cheap, I will warn you of that.

But I have made my health a priority and am willing to do what it takes to

do it right. This time.

I have been adding them in a little at a time because I believe we should be

cautious in anything we put in our bodies.

I currently take something called Ashwagandrah which helps aid the

thryoid and helps the body deal with stress so that helps both my AF and

hypoT.

I am adding in something called Rehmania

that is for people under a lot of stress it also helps with AF.

She then wants to add in Pregnelone which aids the adrenals

to produce the necessary sex hormones so we don¹t

over-produce cholesterol to dot this.

I am currently in Stage 7 of 7 stages of Adrenal fatigue

this took years for me to break my body down and I suspect

it will take at least a year to build it back up.

In addition to these supplements, my nutritionist highly

suggests calcium citrate, magnesium and a quality vitamin/mineral

supplement.

As well as the above, I also exercise moderately, do light stretching

and try to sleep 7-8 hours a night no matter what.

I have removed wheat and cafeine from my diet and am working on sugar now...

We can heal and sometimes we do need medicine, but for the

thryoid, hormone replacment is not a drug, it is hormone replacement

and until, or if our thyroids are not making enough thryoid hormone, we

must help it out.

HI Venizia,

I am in Texas ‹ my nutrionist I found works out of Wisconsin.

Her name is a Amelong.

She is with optimalhealthcnetwork.com

She has services from hair and saliva testing to colonics, sauna, massage.

I found her years ago when looking for a place to get my hair tested for

toxins.

If you contact her, please mention my name Sue in Texas, she will appreciate

that, and she¹s very very sweet and listens to you as a person.

Thanks Sue. Madison is about 1 1/2 hrs from where I am. I may look

into this if this new naturopath doesn't pan out.

Thank you all for your kind words.

Iodoral has started to help with the insomnia & PMS.

(Currently I am on about 30 mg and will gradually increase.

Is there a maximum, and a good time line for increasing?)

Next I will either try Armour & /or the syndrome protocol

as it seems to be helping my sister (my whole family has chronically

low temperature - even my 4 year old.)

I just keep reading and learning new things.

What has really helped with the weight gain/loss is

stopping wheat, dairy, alcohol, corn, soy, caffiene - all

the highly allergenic foods, and/thus stress causing foods.

Thank you.

you will need ENOUGH Iodoral (at least 50mg) and increase Armour when you

have bad symptoms. I would NOT stay on 30mg--increase right away to 60mg.

most ppl take 180--300mg. I take 240mg.

HI ,

Idoral has iodine is that correct?

My nutritionist does say it's okay for me to have some iodine so she

suggested the organicall bound mnerals from Standard Process.

You have no negative effects from iodine then I take it?

I have heard mixed reviews/advice on this.

I got rid of the wheat and caffeiene and soy and don't drink but you also

got out corn and dairy -- sheeesh, I may have to try that next...

They are high allergy foods, darn :(

I just got used to no wheat/gluten and really into yogurt...

Good Luck with Armour if you try it, that did me no good at all.

But others swear by it.

EAST,

Now that you have your thyroid " numbers " in place, in order to " get the rest

of the way, healthy, " you probably need to re-normalize your acidity back to

the desired (God-given) level of 7.365, call it 7.4

If you DO that, you may find all your other ills, simply " going away. "

How 'bout that?

Just be aware that the RDA of iodine [which I'm assuming is the same as

iodoral] is 1.5 mg per day, and you're already taking 2000% of that

recommended level. Also be aware that there are credible studies that

have shown harm from considerably less than you are taking. However, I

believe Gracia is taking 100 mg/day, which is over 6600% of the RDA.

Even though we're all different I hope you have the ability to recognize

the symptoms of iodine poisoning as well as the treatment.

Luck,
