Guest guest
Hi Jane, how low is your ferritin? Guest guest
Hi Ruth, My ferritin is 16 and the normal range is 9-120. I am told I need it to be 70-90 so I am taking two iron tablets a day. By all accounts it will take six to 12 weeks to get my stored ferritin up to that level. Jane
Guest guest
Go to our website Jane www.tpa-uk.org.uk and click on 'Hypothyroidism' and then click on 'Associated Conditions' and you will find information there about low ferritin and the good foods that contain iron that you should be eating. Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone could help me understand these results...I have yet to get to my dr. about it. My tsh is now .55 which is a good level for me, but last time I had blood work down, my t3(not free t3) was in range, just barely, at 98. My lab has the range at about 97 to 200 (that's very approximate). This past blood work has my t3 lower, now out of range at 94. Should I be looking at adding t3, or just go by the tsh? I feel better, but wonder if this is some piece of it that I should look in to. Thanks all! Ellie
Guest guest
Thank you , I needed someone to understand! From: jenny stenning <jennystenning@...>Subject: RE: Low T3"sheila turner" <thyroid treatment >Date: Saturday, 17 April, 2010, 17:05 Hi Louise, These results are far too low TSH should be around 1.0 if your are on T4 only- so it is no wonder your felt dreadful. T4 isn't too bad, but that low T3 is really why your felt ill. You could probably do with a dose increase, but not for a month after your last- as you near the right amount it is better to go slowly to allow your body time to heal, or you can go hyper which is very uncomfortable- gently does it! your emotions of course are fragile- you are coming out of a terrible ordeal and as the T3 in the dose settles and increases so should your mood.
