Guest guest
I've been on synthroid for 5 years now. I'm overweight even though i go to gym and work out 3 times a week. I eat as much organic meats and veggies and meats as possible. I have blue cross blue shield insurance so hopefully that will be good enough. I'd like to have triple the energy i do now especially since i am homeschooling my 5 kids. I just wanted some opinions on who loved the stuff and who didn't thanks. > > i am not much of a meat eater myself, not because i do not like it > but....armour has saved my life and as it as been said " you can take my > armour when you pry from my dead hands " > i was sny for 6 yrs, with no results, 176pd when i got off from work i > went home and sat on the couch until it was time for bed at 9pam. i am > a size 6, 132lbs now, i can go all day everyday...check out the natural > thyroid group for more details on armour and the > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ site on drs that will x it. not > many will. they are stuff with the T4 it is also less expensive than > synthroid, if you have insurance though you will still pay the usual > copay. > what are you taking now and how do you feel...how do you want to feel > > > > renee > > > > Is there anyone who has taken Armour and not liked it? Guest guest
Hi, . You said of Armour " ...it is also less expensive than Synthroid... " . I think you can get Synthroid from Walmart for $4 for a 30 day supply. I checked into it and did not go that route because I only pay about $3.50 per month for my co-pay. > > > Re: Armour > <hypothyroidism/message/28203;_ylc=X3oDMTJxOXBlbGt\ vBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzE0NTY2NARncnBzcElkAzE3MDkyNTEwODIEbXNnSWQDMjgyMDMEc2V\ jA2Rtc2cEc2xrA3Ztc2cEc3RpbWUDMTE3OTQ4MTkzOQ--> > > > > Posted by: " " rhoneycutt21@... > <mailto:rhoneycutt21@...?Subject=%20Re%3A%20Armour> > rhoneycutt21 <rhoneycutt21> > > > Thu May 17, 2007 6:38 am (PST) > > i am not much of a meat eater myself, not because i do not like it > but....armour has saved my life and as it as been said " you can take my > armour when you pry from my dead hands " > i was sny for 6 yrs, with no results, 176pd when i got off from work i > went home and sat on the couch until it was time for bed at 9pam. i am > a size 6, 132lbs now, i can go all day everyday...check out the natural > thyroid group for more details on armour and the > http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > <http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/> site on drs that will x it. not > many will. they are stuff with the T4 it is also less expensive than > synthroid, if you have insurance though you will still pay the usual > copay. > what are you taking now and how do you feel...how do you want to feel > > renee
Guest guest
Roni, It's not that Armour is a favorite! Sam, and myself, and others, have been through it. I have been on several different dosages of T4 meds and never did well on any of them. I didn't do well until I discovered Armour and got it for myself. It is not a matter of favorites. It can be a matter of life and death, which I am sure some will either choose not to believe or scoff at. Doesn't really matter to me. I have made my choices and choose to self treat like Sam does. Works for me, mostly because I have educated myself; the last doctor I saw was impressed with MY knowledge. Unfortunately he is not on my ins. plan, so I can't see him. If you educate yourself both as to the workings of the endocrine system as it affects the whole body, and educate yourself on the medications, you can successfully self treat. I no longer trust the vast majority of physicians. WHEN I go to a doctor, it will be because I have done my research and found a doctor that won't try to conform me to HIS way of thinking, who will understand that I have done what I needed to do and why, and he surely won't be in the pockets of big pharma, whom I despise. I am so sick and tired of drug ads on TV that now I just mute them. Americans don't suffer from a deficiency of pharmaceuticals. We need to made radical changes in diet and cut out junk foods and drinks and drink more pure water and eat living foods with enzymes in them. C. Guest guest
I do that with other health issues, just haven't treated myself with the thyroid. The insurance company okayed it now, so I'm beginning a new era. <cccquilter@...> wrote: Roni, It's not that Armour is a favorite! Sam, and myself, and others, have been through it. Guest guest
Naturethroid is the same as Armour except for the fillers used. I have been able to get Armour in 1 grain tablets but I heard that in the UK most dosages are now available. Venizia > > Anyone taking Armour thyroid? Guest guest
I get my Armour thyroid at the regular pharmacy. Is that the same as what you guys are talking about or is there a different armour? Guest guest
Sara, Yes, there is only one kind of Armour. I also go thru a pharmacy. Naturethroid is also from pig like Armour just a different brand name. They also use different fillers. It is dosed different however. I have taken both. I was taking 3 grains of Armour when I changed to Naturethroid. When on Naturethroid my doctor put me on 1-1/2 tablets twice a day of 64.8 mg tablets. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I take 4-1/2 grains and get my Armour through Walgreens. Last three refills have been no problem. Guest guest
Do you know....if you are on Armour and switched to Naturethroid would you continue on the same dosage or have to adjust? I worked a long time getting myself to a dosage that I think is ok and I sure don't want to have to start all over again. My docs are useless....they refuse to prescribe armour saying I will get mad cow disease ( even tho armour is made from pig) and insist I take synthroid so I've had to do this on my own. I've looked at about 10 overseas pharmacies and everyone has not available and now I'm getting really low and VERY worried... > > > > Anyone taking Armour thyroid? Guest guest
Why the switch in dosages if naturethyroid is the SAME as armour? And that's like half the dosage you were taking with the armour. THis is what worries me about switching...I dont' know how much to take..... > > > > > > > > Anyone taking Armour thyroid? Guest guest
Your doctor or yourself if you are self medicating will have to figure out the difference in Armour and find the same dose with the Naturethroid. As I mentioned, I was taking 3 grains of Armour at the time and with Naturethroid I took a total of 3 tablets each one being 64.8 mg of thyroid. I took 1 and 1/2 in the morning and 1 and 1/2 tablet in the afternoon. What are you taking in Armour? Venizia > > > > > > Anyone taking Armour thyroid? Guest guest
I missed the part about your overseas...where are you located? For how long? Work or vacation? Guest guest
He needs to call around to other pharmacies to see if they have any. I am really surprised that your pharmacist didn't do this- it is common practice. -- Armour I just went to get my refill and the pharmacy is out. While I stood there he called and was told that product is not coming out from factor till end of June to mid July. So what do we do in the interim?????? -- mse
