I think this link is important to go to:

http://www.sciencel ab.com/xMSDS- Magnesium_ stearate- 9927217

If what they are saying is true, why in the world would this stuff be in

anything that we ingest? This really makes me angry. For months I was taking

this not realizing how dangerous it is...IF this is true.

Venezia, I've tried to access this link but there is something

wrong with it. Could you send it again? If you like you can send

it to me directly.

Roni I can give you this much:

The link below confirms that magnesium stearate is indeed a DANGEROUS compound

on our medication.. .

http://www.sciencel ab.com/xMSDS- Magnesium_ stearate- 9927217

The link conducts you to the material safety data sheet (a chemistry lab info

sheet for people that work straight with the checmicals). In the end of the

document it says " Magnesium stearate poses a hazard if swallowed " .. . hello,

this thing is supposed to be then swallowed by all of us in our medication?? ?

Sorry Roni and Amy....can someone that is more computer savvy make this link

work? :(  It did not highlight the whole link so to get it thru.  I think it

needs to be shortened or something? Told you I didn't know much about computers!

It seems that there is a difference in the magnesium stearate that is used in

pills and capsules, and magnesium stearate that is used by itself. I sent two

different sites, one by Ray Shahalian and one by the pharma industry. To me it

looked like pretty much the same conclusions.

The wikipedia site says that it is safe and used in making capsules and pills.

The other site is talking about this stuff in powder form and obtained or used

in

bulk. I think there is a difference, but of course I could be wrong.

I'd like to ask Chuck if he knows the difference and could explain it to us.

The stuff is used in both pharmacological and supplement type of pills and

capsules.

The first is regulated the second not. Since it has been used for so long, I

would tend to

think that if it was dangerous to the general public it would have been

discovered already.

Again, I could be wrong.

The link had spaces. I took them out. Sometimes breaks up links

and sometimes they don't. I don't recall mine ever getting broken up, I

don't know why.

There used to be a " practice " where one put angle brackets <> on either

side of a link and it wouldn't even get wrapped by email software. That

practice is inconsistently applied nowadays.

It's a find dust that makes other things pore really easily. But, don't

breath it as it's a very fine dust - that's one of the reasons for

strict warnings when the bulk is being handled.

Steve,

So where is the part that says it is dangerous? Material Safety Data

Sheets generally refer to large exposures. They are notoriously

exaggerated. I have one that says that chalk dust is carcinogenic.

Sure. In an MSDS, the emphasis should be on _Material_. These are

warnings for large warehouses full of magnesium stearate dust. They

don't apply to the tiny quantities used to hold pills together. Look at

an MSDS for insect spray or household cleaners. Or, paint, flour, or

bath products. It will make you wonder how you managed to reach adulthood.

You can usually prevent 's software from breaking a link by

enclosing it in arrows: <http://www.google.com/>. Although such short
