Guest guest
I don't think my problem is lack of protein , I track every morsel on fitday. My calories are averaging around 1200ish per day and protein is 50 -80 grams. I am perimenopausal (age 49) and am wondering if it could be hormones. For past year I've been getting hair growth on my chin but after surgery I'm loosing hair off my head. Maybe effects of the anesthetic or hormones. I'm going to give it another month or so before going to my regular doc and ask for tests. I too am experiencing hair loss. I didn't think much about it until I read your post. I have a handful come out in the shower and then when I blow dry I have to sweep up the floor. I think I read early on, before I hand my band, that it's not getting enough protein. So I'm going to increase mine. Let me know what you do and maybe we can compare notes. °Ü° 7/15/04 204/165/135 Dr. Aceves, Mexico>>

Guest guest
Venizia, Thank you for this information. I wish he was my doctor too!! I am sorry that you will not be able to have him as your doctor. Any chance you can consult with your new doc, and then pay for his services occassionally? That way, you will have insurance for catastrophic stuff, but get well with him? Maybe he can work with you? Any chance you can get a referral to him? Thanks for this information, i will be increasing slightly as well too. Right now, I am doing a cleanse to try to help too. I have noticed that at night, around the same time, my heart starts racing...it's weird. Did this happen to you? Hugs! venizia1948 <nelsonck@...> wrote: Hi Well, I had my last appointment this morning with the only doctor that has helped me feel better in 20 yrs. Very sad. He is much to expensive for me to afford with the insurance change we had to make. He was so helpful though. He is writing a statement to the next doctor and explaining what he has been doing and why. He is a believer in treating by symptoms not by tests. He said with Hashi's you CANNOT treat by tests. Hope I can convince my next doctor. I may be going back to him and eating less etc. Anyway, I asked him about my hairloss and whether that meant I was getting too much Armour or not enough. He said I needed to increase it. Hairloss was from not getting enough Armour. Hope this helps you make a decision that works for you. I will be increasing mine slightly. Have a great day. Guest guest
You might want to have your TSH checked again, and if the number is below <.01, try splitting up the dose in halves or thirds. I have found this to be a help, and my racing heart with the atrial fibrillation is doing much better. Roni and Irwin <familyirwin@...> wrote: Venizia, Thank you for this information. Guest guest
, I get the racing heart when I have food or liquids with sulfites of which there are many. Any corn products have sulfites because the corn in processing is bathed in sulfites (used as a preservative). I cannot have popcorn and many other foods. You might want to check to see if it is happening after you have eaten something and then find out if it may have sulfites. When I first started on Armour, I had a racing heart but after the dose was lowered, it was ok. Someone in the group mentioned that you can get the racing heart if you increase too quickly with to large a dose. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi Venizia, Thanks for this...I feel so confused, because when my TSH was in the 40's, I didn't have any hairloss, and now that it is 0.10, I am losing hair...gaining weight, and my freeT3 and T4 seem to be in the right ranges...So, not sure if I am hypo or hyper So, I don't know what to do, I think I need to address adrenals... I am giong to see an osteopath (covered by insurance) on Monday, so hopefully she will be open to getting me my saliva tests. (It is hard to use STTM for this test, because they are overseas, and I would have to international air my results back....) I'll keep you posted on what her thoughts are too. I am feeling really frustrated, almost feel duped, as when my TSH was in the Hypo range, I was skinny, had all of my hair, but was depressed....now I am not as depressed, fat, and have low TSH! Not sure what to think...I read Chuck's email, and am not sure if my Hashi is a moving target. Thanks for thinking of me! Guest guest
Try not to feel down. You still have options to try. Going to an osteopath and checking adrenals may be helpful. Have you checked out what other conditions may cause hair loss? Maybe it is not your thyroid at all. I would google if I were you. I do know how you feel about the weight gain. I had put on almost 30# before going on Armour. Going up to 160# and only being 5' 2 " is not healthy. I have lost 12 since but I still have a ways to go and yes, it is very frustrating. Will be thinking of you and let me know what the osteopath has to say....I am very interested! Guest guest
I used it in the past, but didn't really notice that much of a difference. I was using Garden of LIfe, and URI brands. Do you think it helps? Guest guest
I do know it is better than other oils when used in cooking. I used it on DD's diaper rash that was actually yeast. I just buy Lou since its less expensive than Garden of Life. Dr Mercola wrote a lot in his book about it. I'll have to see what it says and let you know. Guest guest
Hi /everyone, I have also recently noticed that I'm thinning at the temples. I googled " hair loss hypothyroid " and found a site that suggested evening primrose oil, ferritin, and two types of amino acid (I think L- lysine and something else) - I tried the EPO and noticed almost immediately that my scalp didn't hurt quite so much... Check it out! Hope this helps, Henry > > Hi , > > You may have already read this but in case you didn't try: stopthethyroidmadness.com/ > losing-my-hair/ > > Venizia >
Guest guest
Hi Henry, Thanks very much for this information. I bought some EPO for something else, so I will start taking it.
