Wild Yam provides progesterone which is often recommended for menopause, however I do not recommend using it, and neither does Dr. Mercola, unless you are constantly tested so you do not get too much - see information below. However, your vaginal yeast isn't caused by taking wild yam alone. It is caused by a depressed immune system and an imbalance between good and bad bacteria mainly in the digestive tract, which in turn causes candida/yeast overgrowth. Vaginal yeast is maybe most evident but you can bet candida overgrowth is mainly going on in your gut. The only way to cure it is to improve your immune system with this program. See " How to Treat Vaginal Yeast " ; http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/women6.php Please read the article sent to you when you joined " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " ; http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2_8.php About taking wild yam for progesterone, here's a section from my article Women's Health Issues & Treatments; http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/women7.php " There are many health products marketed to women for treating their health issues, and believe me I've tried them all, including progesterone cream, black cohosh, dong quai, etc. Here's what Dr. Mercola says about progesterone: " ...progesterone is highly fat soluble and once applied to the skin will store itself in a woman's fat tissue. When one first uses the cream, there is no problem here as the fat stores are very low. But as time goes on, the cream accumulates and contributes to disruptions in the adrenal hormones such as DHEA, cortisol, and testosterone. I have learned that although progesterone cream is an enormously useful tool, it needs to be used very cautiously. I have also learned that it is far more important to work to normalize the adrenal hormones first. " Please see my article " Adrenal Malfunction & Treatments. " Other treatments are not going to help you when all of your body's cells are rigid from candida toxins, and giving your body substances, other than the basic supplements recommended, can overwhelm and confuse it, creating another set of symptoms and problems. It is much more beneficial to your overall health for you to concentrate on nutrition, getting your immune system built up, and getting rid of candida, rather than shooting off into different directions treating separate issues or symptoms. Your body will normalize more and more as you continue on the Candida Program. " I was able to eliminate hot flashes during menopause by taking 800 IU of vitamin E per day. Candida puts out over 79 different kinds of toxins which interferes with hormone useage and production in the body because it makes all of the body's cells go rigid (stiff) - hormones aren't as able to get into rigid cells where they are needed to do their job, which results in menopausal symptoms. Menopause is not a disease! This diet with its high saturated fats, and elimination of bad fats and oils, along with oil soluble vitamins A, D & E, omega-3, and other important supplements, protein from animals, fish, eggs, etc. help the body change over production from the ovaries to the fat cells in the body the way nature intended. You would always begin at the lowest dose possible and only gradually increase it every 4-5 days. Are there any specific supplements that seem to have large quantities? Most health practitioners & websites recommend twice as much as I do for vitamin E and calcium. Vitamin C is the only really high one at 4,000 mg per day and that is the recommended minimum daily amount by Orthmolecular Physicians, particularly when a person is sick. Please explain my dear.
