Re: Buffered Oral Oxygen - why I would avoid it...

Hi All,

As both of you probably know our bodies are not getting enough oxygen

to our cells due to the overgrowth of candida in our systems.

Here is a quote, about how candida deprives us of oxygen, from Bee in

post number 43855...

" Also Under normal conditions, red blood cells carry oxygen throughout

the body; red blood cells must be flexible enough to squeeze down to

about one-seventh their normal size in order to travel into the body's

tiny capillaries. The chemicals released by yeast cause the red blood

cell walls to become more rigid. As a result, they have difficulty

squeezing into the tiny capillaries - and the transport of life-giving

oxygen to all the tissues and organs of the body are impaired.

Deprived of sufficient oxygen, these tissues and organs lose their

ability to function. "

So obviously getting enough oxygen to our cells is an issue. However,

I don't think anything is needed to help improve this other than what

Bee recommends, because many of the recommended supplements help deal

with this issue. Here's another quote from Bee.

" I have researched oxygen therapy... intravenous vitamin C increases

the body's production of hydrogen peroxide (H202) which is

oxygenating. Other substances also oxygenate including food grade

H202, vitamin E, some B vitamins, particularly " true " niacin... "

I don't know much about the oxygen products you have mentioned, they

may or may not help. However the ones I have seen had Tahitian Noni

Juice, and natural fruit concentrates both of which I would be

concerned about in regards to sugars. Also many oxygen products use

chlorine dioxide as their source of oxygen, and we all know how bad

chlorine can be. The ones that said they didn't use chlorine dioxide,

never specified what exactly they DID use besides " food grade

stabilized oxygen " Well what chemicals are they using to stabilize

that oxygen? It never said, and that always worries me.

All I can do is speak from my experience, which is that mild exercise,

and additional vitamin C and niacin have really helped me a lot in

regards to this issue. And since doing this is so much closer to what

our bodies would normally experience, I feel more comfortable with

that, then trying newer therapies that have less information available

about their effectiveness. I don't think we are meant to ingest

oxygen, and though it might help, I worry about what the long run

impact of ingesting it will be. I think many of us have learned the

hard way that when we look to find a short cut, we often hurt other

parts of our health. Just think about how much antibiotics have

messed up our digestion, and I think you will understand what I am

getting at here.

From the site you mentioned I saw this quote and three things struck me.

" Research shows that women, following yeast diets and candida diets,

obtain some relief from their symptoms, yet as soon as they go off the

restricted diet, their yeast infection and candida symptoms return

almost immediately. The only substance ever shown to actually destroy

the candida and yeast organism on contact is oxygen. "

First, we all know why candida is so hard to cure, its because our

bodies and immune systems are weak due to a lack of nutrients. Most

candida diets don't work because they lack a holistic approach like

Bee recommends. Healing is also a slow process. It can take years to

undo the damage we have been doing to our bodies for decades.

Additionally candida comes back because we often stop the diet too

soon before our bodies were fully healed. Also, when people stop

candida diets, they often go back to their previously nutrient poor

diets that caused the whole problem to begin with. So though the site

is right in saying that infections often return, its due to the

incomplete nature of the diets and that people don't stick to then

long enough, not because diets are ineffective in general.

Second, ANY time I see something that states its the " only " way to

deal with Candida, I become very skeptical. I feel like they are

trying to sell me something rather than educate me.

Thirdly, even if it is effective, and even if its chemical make up and

ingredients are not problematic, after using oral oxygen, if you don't

improve your nutrition, I believe candida will still come back after

using oral oxygen as well. It might kill Candida, but if you don't

deal with the issue that caused the problem to begin with, namely poor

nutrition, candida will return.

Additionally, exercise, vitamin C and niacin are cheaper.

Ok, sorry that got long.

Jecca, I think you are right about the marketing ploys. After I finish

it off - I will no longer use the oxygen. I am learning very quickly

that it is proper nutrition, exercise and TLC that gets the job done!

Thanks,
