Guest guest
I am just beginning the anti-candida journey and have a question. Two days ago I had to have oral surgery and have developed and infection in my tooth, the bone in my jaw and into the sinus. The dentist has placed me on antibiotics and I know antibiotics make candida worse. Any suggestions? Should I wait until the infection clears up to start the diet? Are there any supplements that I should be taking while I'm on the antibiotics. I have a prescription for Diflucan, but don't know if I should take it now, or wait. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Peg in NC

First, infections are very misunderstood by most people, mainly because the medical industry promotes the idea that infection means something is going very wrong and you " have to do " something about it immediately. They also are fearful of law suits when they do not perscribe antibiotics. But they have about 5-8 hours training in nutrition, which is mostly wrong information, and they only know how to treat the body with drugs and surgery. Infections are simply the body's way of healing. Inflammation is due to more blood being brought to the area. Swelling is to immoblize the area so it can heal better, and also because more healing fluids (pus is a healing fluid produced by the immune system) and blood are being concentrated in the area. Get the idea? It doesn't necessarily mean there are any bugs in the area. However, even bugs aren't a problem because your own body produces them in order to clean up an area, or to help the area heal. See information on the germ theory of disease being totally out to lunch: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu5_3_1.php There are many natural antibiotics from Mother nature, and they are safer and more effective than any antibiotic drugs. Antibiotic drugs cause candida because they wipe out the good organisms along with the bad ones. At the same time it is important to get proper nutrients to help your body heal after surgery. If you decide to continue taking the antibiotics you do need to take probiotics; do not take them at the same time however. Take them 3 hours before or after taking the antibiotics. Buy a good one as described in my article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " - see the Probiotics Section which also gives the doses: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro2.php Natural antibiotics include raw crushed garlic, oil of oregano, and clove oil. Because you have candida taking them internally will create die-off symptoms since they are also antifungal, but I think you will be okay if you use them topically. The oils are the easiest to use, and I recommend you use oil of oregano as follows: When you have a toothache or have had surgery, rub oregano oil around the infected tooth several times a day. It is fairly strong so you might need to dilute it with some coconut oil or olive oil. It will kill infection and reduce pain. For diseased gums rub the oregano oil all over the gums several times a day. Mix 4 to 5 drops of oil of oregano in 1 teaspoon of oil to apply to the tooth and to rub into the gums around the tooth. Apply it to the tooth by soaking a small piece of cotton ball with the mixture. Place the cotton ball between near the gumline between the tooth and the inside of your cheek. Rub it into the gums, particularly on the side that has the affected tooth. Also swish an oil of oregano mixture around in your mouth. Put 2-3 drop of oregano oil in 1 teaspoon of oil. Put the whole teaspoon mixture in your mouth, hold it under your tongue until the saliva gathers, and then swish it around in your mouth for 2 minutes. If it is too strong take small sips of water to mix with it. Since you have candida do not swallow it, instead spit it out. Do this 3 to 5 times a day. Place a drop of oregano oil on your toothbrush when brushing. You will find that plaque does not build up on your teeth, and the health of your gums will improve dramatically. As for nutrients it would be important to not have sugars of any kind because they interfere with healing and depress the immune system, and also to have plenty of good soups or bone broths - there is a recipe for a Mineral-Rich Bone Broth in our Group's Files (left-hand menu) in the " C) Recipes " Folder. You could also have Bee's Raw Egg Drink, but use only 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and 1 teaspoon of butter with 1 egg to start with - it is under Drinks & Teas in our Recipe Files too. Also take megadoses of vitamin C. Buy a supplement that contains rosehips, citrus bioflavonoids, hesperidin and rutin, and that doesn't contain sugar, gluten, dairy, soy, preservatives, etc. If you live in North America you can get Natural Factors brand, 500 mg per tablet. Start with 4,000 mg of vitamin C and take 1,000 mg every hour while you are awake. If you reach bowel tolerance (loose stools) cut back on the amount a little, and if you do not reach bowel tolerance after 1 day increase the amount to 2,000 mg every hour. Stay at the dose that doesn't cause loose stools for at least 10 days. You can also take White Willow Bark capsules for any pain; buy them at the health store and take it according to the label. I hope that helps. Bee >
