Guest guest
Hello Ira- I do not think that their is a moderator right now, or if there is, they haven't said anything in a long time. So, I believe that would make us moderator-less. It is very kind of you to offer to be the moderator, but I actually think that we are okay without one. Of course this is just my opinion and I sometimes have trouble biting my tongue when politics are occassionally discussed, but I still think we are okay sticking with how things are now. I personally like the feeling of everyone being on the same playing field. It is really great though that you have re-joined the group! I would love to hear more info. on the story of your health, etc.! Take care! Ira, you said: hello group members my name is ira fine, and i am very supportive of dr hulda clark's theories. back then, it was an egroup. that was before merged with egroups. i was apppointed as this group's moderator by dusan of norway back around 1994. due to certain bad situations in my private life, i was unable to continue as moderator, in part, because it moderating these groups does take a lot of time. i actually was not doing what i needed to do, and knew how to do it for my own hypothyroidism condition, and my own health had deteriorated because of that. i had asked dusan to remove me as moderator, and i thought that he had done so, as my password no longer seemed to work, and i was not able to even access my , even as just a subscriber. well, to bring you up to date, i came across the information i need to access this group as a moderator. is there another person who presently is moderating this group? i do not want to step on that person's toes. however, if the group is totally otherwise lacking a moderator, i am willing to assume certain of those tasks, but i cannot be as active as had been previously. i just did approve several pending messages. i can be contacted directly at iramfine@... ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Guest guest
Even if vocal members of this group would prefer the group to remain " moderatorless " , it would be good if there were SOMEONE who would administrate background tasks, such as memberships, etc. It took me something like a month just to get my new membership and posting privileges. I had questions that I really needed an answer to much faster than that, and I was completely unable to get any response from the supposed " list owner " . I, for one, would love it if there were a moderator or an adminstrator of some kind that will actually be somewhat responsible for the group. Whoever has been doing it is not doing a good job, in my opinion. -Ken Bagwell > > Hello Ira- > > I do not think that their is a moderator right now, or if there is, they > haven't said anything in a long time. Guest guest
good point. maybe there is just no one to contact? does someone know how to find out? my mother just died this morning and I don't think I am qualified to figure it out. I am on one moderated group and it really sucks. the group is only as smart as the moderator. maybe something can be changed so that ppl can automatically sign up here. Guest guest
Hi Gracia, A good moderator does not attempt to be an authority figure or tyrant. He merely tries to keep the peace so that discussions go smoothly and without strife. Additionally, a good moderator should try to keep troublemakers out, people who only seem to be interested in starting a fight or trying to turn the group away from its charter. I actually managed to talk to Ira via IM last night about these things, and he agreed on these points above. In a forum with a good moderator, it is rare to see decent discussion stifled or members removed if they discuss politely and are sincere in joining the group to learn and ask. -Ken Bagwell > > > good point. maybe there is just no one to contact? does someone know how to find out? > my mother just died this morning and I don't think I am qualified to figure it out. > I am on one moderated group and it really sucks. the group is only as smart as the moderator. maybe something can be changed so that ppl can automatically sign up here. > Gracia > > Even if vocal members of this group would prefer the group to remain > " moderatorless " , it would be good if there were SOMEONE who would > administrate background tasks, such as memberships, etc. > > It took me something like a month just to get my new membership and > posting privileges. Guest guest
I'd like to add that sometimes people try and join this group and can't because they don't receive approval. We need someone to do this. -- Re: the group moderator from 1994-1999 is back again Even if vocal members of this group would prefer the group to remain " moderatorless " , it would be good if there were SOMEONE who would administrate background tasks, such as memberships, etc. It took me something like a month just to get my new membership and posting privileges. Guest guest
Gracia, I'm sorry to hear that your mother died.. It's quite a big thing when one of our parents dies... Both of mine have died in the past 7 years so I do know what it is like.... take care of yourself though all that is to come.. Guest guest
Gracia. Please accept my condolences. Our relationship with our parents in life may be up or down, but we do grow and learn a lot from them. I lost my mother quite some years ago, and tho our relationship was clearly up and down, I still loved her and missed her, as I am sure you do yours. I wish you well, and that healing may come your way. ~ Priitaa > > > > > Gracia.
