It very much is the focus, in spite of appearances and recent political bickering. The upshot though, is that the only effective alternative treatments work primarily on side effects of the hypoT condition, not the hypoT itself. Of course, the group is split on which alternatives work for these related conditions, but they pretty much agree that you must have some form of replacement hormone if you are genuinely hypoT.
