Guest guest
Thanks Chuck. I do have osteoarthritis, but it generally causes tenderness in joints while forming and then the pain/discomfort goes away and I'm left with some restricted use of affected joints. This is acute pain- nothing like what I have experienced in the past so perhaps it isn't the joints as you suggest. Is tendinitis associated with hypo T? This is soooooo painful!!! Is there a test (besides bone density exam) which would reveal calcium problems for hypo T's? Maybe I could manage to keep an eye on my bones with a blood test, since docs don't seem to. DUsty Re: Joint/bone pain and Synthroid Dusty, The study I cited recently about cardiac effects also noted osteoporosis for TSH levels at 0.1 or below. However, that should not cause bone and joint pain until bones start breaking or changing shape. OTOH, I get joint pain when my dose is too low and TSH goes up. Bone pain goes with a number of other conditions. I believe arthritis is the most common, although that usually affects the joints more. What you might have is tendinitis, where the muscle connects to the bone, rather than the bone itself. Chuck
