AH!!! True Love! Just remember that there are a lot of sick people out

here that have no time for games. If you want to play who is on top

take it off the club. D999

D999,

I really disagree with your objection to Chuck and Gracia kidding around. Even

sick people

need to laugh once in awhile. It can be tremendously helpful!!!!

I agree with you completely, Venizia. It feels good to lighten up and

laugh.

At least Gracia and I have the netiquette to sign our posts, even when

we are debating the merits of iodine. I think between the two of us, we

probably post as much, if not more, technical advice than anyone else on

the list.

Did you just get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

No not on the wrong side of the bed. I am just happy to get out of the bed. LOL

I also read the post about no more hope. How sad. I know everyone in this club

is suffering. It is so sad for people to argue when we all are suffering like

this. I think that the Levothyroxine has saved my life. I still am taking

..75mcg. I don't like fighting it only makes me feel worse. Can't you come to an

agreement? We have enough confusion from the doctors we go to. If you saw a

picture of me before treatment with the Levothyroxine and after it, you wouldn't

believe it was the same person. Don't fight anymore and lets all try to find a

cure or best treatment for this thing. I know you are very smart and cute and

everything, We all need your brain. PS. This is how I sign. D999

Hi Dauphine,

I have not participated in this thread before, but I

sometimes think people interpret a difference of

opinion as fighting. It is wonderful that this forum

gives us the ability to see everyone's point of view,

not just one. Also, it has been scientifically proven

that laughter improves mood, health, and lessens pain,

so as I see it, we would all do better laughing than

crying.

I hope you will be doing better.

Yes I am sure most of us feel better when we laugh or smile. I suppose it must

make people grumply though when they are down and/or in pain.

It would appear I am hypothyroid. (Yet to be be confirmed) I am awaiting

results of blood tests taken only today. I live in the UK. I have read awefull

things and I am really scared of this weird disease and I wish it would go away.

Thankfully so far I am well but because I am maybe in denial. I feel in no mans

land. I think I feel worse by reading too many horror stories. It is so good

that people can be there for eachother.

Kind regards

Hi Suzanne,

I have been hypothyroid for many years, and I can tel

you this. There is help, there is medication. It does

require you have a doctor who is both knowledgeable

and willing to work with you.

However, I have this to say for you. If you are

diagnosed hypo thyroid, it is not a death sentence,

and the are other things that are very much worse. So

take heart, there are millions of us with you, and on

this board you can have many friends that understand

and share all your concerns with you.

I don't think it is very funny to laugh at illness. I would not laugh at people

in a wheelchair. I wouldn't make a joke out of their illness. I would try to

help them. Most of the people are fighting to get well. They would hang on every

word that knowledgeable people like Chuck and Gracia have if it will make them

well. They are the role models of the group. They give people hope. We need

answers and not jokes. Please tell a joke that is funny. That is good for people

to laugh at. Illness is not a joke. When people disagree and perpetuate their

disagreement in every post It just tells other people that it is OK to be sick,

that it is funny and lessens their motivation to get well. If someone has any

differences of opinion they should state their differences and then take them

private and not subject others to their antics. We need givens and not

hypotheses. Sorry Chuck I just got insulted. D999

I DO NOT think that Chuck and Gracia were laughing at the illnesses of other

people. Nor

do I condone laughing at illnesses of others. Remember, I also have this

illness. I am not

offended by their " joking " around. These two people care very much about the

people in

this group, there is no doubt about it. The " joking " shows they are human :-)

and it is

refreshing. If you read their comments they were " joking " on each other. It

had nothing to

do with the rest of us. Sorry you were offended and hope you look at both sides

of this.

Hope you have a peaceful and harmonious weekend.

There are a lucky few of us [such as myself] who have no symptoms,

although I must take Synthroid to keep my TSH within limits. But I

think that is very rare. However, there was another person a few months

back inquiring if anyone else had no symptoms.

ly, I often feel like an impostor here, given the level of misery

that so many have.

Best of luck,

It is perhaps rare on this list. However, it is true of the vast

majority of people with hypoT related conditions, who therefore see no

need to seek help in a forum such as this. We are a very self-selecting

group, so your statistical inference cannot be based on random sampling.

Still, symptom free folks might want to stay informed, just in case the

condition ever changes.

OY

IMO hypo/hyperthyroidism is the most poorly treated medical condition there

is. I do not see a lot of satisfied customers in real life either. The

revolution is coming and so are the lawsuits.
