There is good reason to think it might increase the risk of testicular

cancer in males, as well. However, the only longitudinal studies have

been to show that it does not have any of the hoped for (and advertised

for) anti-aging benefits.

In spite of those risks, I tried it and found no benefit whatsoever.

However, it might help someone with a genuine lack of something that

DHEA helps replace. I just don't know what that would be other than sex

hormones, and there are probably better or more controlled ways to

replace those.

The problems are not generally glaucoma but macular degeneration, light

sensitivities, and after images.

That is because you need to find an ophthalmologist. Call up the hospital and

ask for a referral to an ophthalmologist with hospital privileges.

The only protocol you should be following right now is the one given to you

by a naturopath or allopath that is knowledgeable about your particular

conditions.

Treating yourself when you don't really understand what any of this is all about

is VERY dangerous. Please seek the services of a doctor.

It definitely increases intraocular pressure, so it was once thought to

be associated. However, more recent studies have shown that the risk of

elevated IOP progressing to glaucomatous damage is about the same as in

euthyroids. The extra pressure seems to go away once the hypoT is treated.

hi Chuck

I suspect you didnt take enough DHEA. Pharmaceutical grade DHEA will make

you feel great. I take 7-keto DHEA 50mg but regular DHEA 50mg would work just

as well.

WS, didn't you say you tried MSM? If so, where did you get it? I was just

reading that it's not all the same.

I tried a product called 'Triple Flex' (Nature Made was the manufacturer or

packager or whatever) ..it had abt 750 mg MSM along with Glucosamine and

Chondroitin.

u feel the difference only when u get off of it and when you ARE taking it ..it

doesn't make the joints FEEL any less painful.
