Guest guest
Hi there, itz been 2 weeks since I stopped Armour..my eyes are much much better than they have been in a while ..guess all the supplemental Thyroid hormones are outta the system and my eyes kinda recovered from whatever damage Armour did. Now, I want to try Ioderal and DHEA(and HC if i can) ..but DHEA i heard might cause all kindsa problems if Testosterone gets converted into Estrogen (i am MALE ..let's not get into that issue again...lol)..thatz the reason I have been avoiding DHEA ..does it help any of you? and how abt Ioderal...I want to try those supplements first and get my adrenals in working condition before I give Armour another shot (which might be another few months) .. what do u suggest? I take the Thyrolar, all kinds of supplements, and Ambien, because with the fibromyalgia I just don't sleep, period. I was getting so little sleep, that it was actually getting dangerous. I don't take pain pills, even though I am in pain 24/7. I have Atrial Fibrillation and have to keep Valium on hand in case I get an attack. That's it! Guest guest
oh puhlease DHEA is an important adrenal hormone that works with cortisol. It is considered cancer protective, as well as iodine. High or low DHEA is an indicator of adrenal fatigue. Guest guest
your dose of Armour was too low. the only damage done was being on too low a dose. Lots of us have vision probs until we get enough thyroid hormone. How old are you? If you have weak adrenals you will have probs with Iodoral too. Therapeutic dose of Iodoral is 25mg 2X a day to start. It is a powerful detoxifier, and also normalizes hormone levels and prevents sex organ cancers. Guest guest
ok now not many people admitted to having vision problems on Armour ..a few people did ... but not as many as I expected to. I am 28 years old ..have had joint pain since I was 14 ... and probably glaucoma too (but just been diagnosed) ..history of asthma (stopped having attacks a year before having Joint problems) .. thatz what I thought abt Ioderal... I was on it 1/2 mg for a week before I increased the dosage to 1.75 mg ..not sure how often shud I be increasing the dosage?.. it sure makes my joints feel wonderful..but I was following STTM's protocol. Guest guest
The only protocol you should be following right now is the one given to you by a naturopath or allopath that is knowledgeable about your particular conditions. Treating yourself when you don't really understand what any of this is all about is VERY dangerous. Please seek the services of a doctor. Guest guest
Safety Methodology Selected references back to top Background DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone) is an endogenous hormone (made in the human body), and secreted by the adrenal gland. DHEA serves as precursor to male and female sex hormones (androgens and estrogens). DHEA levels in the body begin to decrease after age 30, and are reported to be low in some people with anorexia, end-stage kidney disease, type 2 diabetes (non-insulin dependent diabetes), AIDS, adrenal insufficiency, and in the critically ill. DHEA levels may also be depleted by a number of drugs, including insulin, corticosteroids, opiates, and danazol. There is sufficient evidence supporting the use of DHEA in the treatment of adrenal insufficiency, depression, induction of labor, and systemic lupus erythematosus. No studies on the long-term effects of DHEA have been conducted. DHEA can cause higher than normal levels of androgens and estrogens in the body, and theoretically may increase the risk of prostate, breast, ovarian, and other hormone-sensitive cancers. Therefore, it is not recommended for regular use without supervision by a licensed health professional. Everyone's hormone levels are different. Also age is a factor, and no one should be playing around with this stuff unless they have a tremendous amount of knowledge of how all of these things work individually and in congunction with other things, especially on whatever condition or problem a person may have. Guest guest
I completely disagree. I don't think these things are terrifying and dangerous and only a doctor can tell us what to do. If that were the case I would be 6 feet under by now. Once you know how to use this stuff, it isn't scary or hard to understand. Is WS taking Armour now? that's what I can't figure out. Gracia The only protocol you should be following right now is the one given to you by a naturopath or allopath that is knowledgeable about your particular conditions. Treating yourself when you don't really understand what any of this is all about is VERY dangerous. Please seek the services of a doctor. Guest guest
I think you might be confusing allopathic drugs with hormones!! where are you going to find a doc who knows about hormones? there are some but they are the holistic ones. my doc depends upon the compounding pharmacist for info. Guest guest
Other people here might say something different but I'm almost certain that you aren't supposed to just start taking DHEA ... you have to get bloodwork done and see if you are low. And armour bothered your eyes? What was your bloodwork numbers that said you have hypoT? It's really dangerous to just mess around with these things. Iodine is really controversial right now so that's kinda up to you. Guest guest
Dr. Durrant Peatfield writes about DHEA being an indicator of adrenal insufficiency. I forget what his book title is but you can google him. High or low DHEA will be an indicator that adrenal glands are shot. Will your doc know this??? or will he tell you you are fine???
