Guest guest
I have not been here for a while but have just read the updated article by Bee on how to get started on the diet. Can Bee or anyone else tell me what is meant by 20% protein and 60% fat. Is this percentage of the food by calories or what. It sounds like a lot of fat to protein. I do well on higher protein and fat as I am a fast metaboliser but on reading Bill Wolcott's Metabolic Typing Diet it seems as though slow metabolisers would not tolerate low carbs with more protein and fat. Do some people have trouble cutting out the carbs? thanks Sandy

Those percentages are approximate and they are measured by grams according to the ratios of protein to fat to carbs that I recommend in my article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " (updated and revised). You can calculate your own ratios according to your height as detailed in the A) Candida Diet Folder; but also see the Fitday.com instructions because grams are not translated to weight of the foods to eat. You will understand once you read the related information. > > I do well on higher protein and fat as I am a fast metaboliser but on > reading Bill Wolcott's Metabolic Typing Diet it seems as though slow > metabolisers would not tolerate low carbs with more protein and fat. > Do some people have trouble cutting out the carbs? All people have trouble cutting down on carbs, mainly due to addiction and because they have been using carbs as the main source of energy for the body. Goods fats are the very best and most efficient source of energy for the body because it does not require as many resources from the body in order to be utilized compared to carbs. When you switch your body over to using good saturated fats as its main energy source it can create some temporary symptoms but it is well worth it! It is very important not to consume too much protein in ratio to fats. I do not believe in categorizing people into fast or slow metabolisers. Metabolism rates depends upon the person's nutritional status, which can be corrected and changed by a good diet. After all human bodies are made the same.
