Guest guest
thanks so much to everyone for your kindness, let's have a big group hug. I have talked to sooo many ppl today, they are just coming out of the woodwork. I went and signed a paper for an autopsy at the hospital--no one would have asked for it as cause of death was listed as pneumonia--but it might be interesting. On the way home I had to drive into the setting sun and several places were totally blinding and I thought I was going to die the same day! I hope our parents are in a wonderful place now. XO Gracia Gracia, I am so sorry to read of your loss. I lost my father just under two weeks ago, so I am definitely sympathetic. Guest guest
it would be great if you were all there at the funeral! I am trying to organize this thing and I don't know what I am doing. Funerals can be very expensive can't they? this one has to be on the cheap. I have a sister in CA whose only daughter age 14 went in for a routine surgery. She has an extra rib and it was pushing into an organ so they were going to remove it. Daughter is now in critical condition, 3 surgeries later. so I am not sure when the funeral will be. XO Gracia I hope you can feel my hug. I'm sorry we can't all be there in person to support you and Chuck in your times of greif. Guest guest
Ice cream hehe. Oh this is funny to me for a reason. I have a couple of online buddies I've emailed for years, and we express our good times and bad. When they get real bad, and neither of us can figure out a solution (or even if we can, but the stress is still high), I jokingly (or half jokingly ha) tell them " eat ice cream! " LOL So when you said that, it triggered this. And I think its fine for taking care of you. Stress can release toxins, so its good to get those down, be it ice cream or something else. Anyhow, do what you need to do. ~ Priitaa > > > (((thanks so much Priitaa))) > I ate a bunch of ice cream and I am thinking of having a Guiness. how's that for taking care of me? > Gracia > > > Oh, sometimes it pours when it rains. Guest guest
I have not posted in a while, just read about Gracia's and Chuck's loss of a parent. My sincere condolences to you both. I have neither of my parents. First my father died in 1995, followed by my eldest brother six months later. Then 1997 I lost my mother. Its strange to reach adulthood, and feel like a small orphan in the world. My hypo troubles started immediately after my father's death. I remember the hair loss, overnight weight gain, gritty dry eyes, dry throat, and breathlessness etc. Little did I know then, that I would be looking back in 2003/04 and saying, so THAT'S what it was, once I got treated, and realised just how long I had felt lousy. I am convinced my mother was hypo, she had blood pressure that just kept rising and rising despite the strongest meds, she had the same hypo shape I developed before I got treatment, her eyes used to constantly burn, and she developed diabetes in later life. She was always having headaches and taking to her bed, and could never lose any weight. There is not a day that goes by I do not try to capture in my head, the sounds of the voices of one of my father's funny sayings, my brother's distinctive laugh, and my mother calling my name. I hope Gracia and Chuck you have happy and good memories of your parents, and long may they live on in your memories. Good Luck, God Bless, and continued good health to you both. Love Val. Guest guest
Gracia and Chuck, I am sorry I didn't say anything sooner! I have been very ill with a severe asthma attack and am behind on reading email. I have lost both parents and understand your loss. Losing a parent is a difficult thing, no matter what the relationship was, either good or so-so. Even though more than 15 years have passed since I lost my dad, I miss him to this day. My heart goes out to both of you and hope that you will have friends and family and happy memories to comfort you during this sad time. C.
