Guest guest
I'm confused about baking soda mixed with vitamin C crystals. When do I take it for stomach problems? and what does it do? I know you take baking soda to test for stomach acid levels. Thanks in advance! -amy in Pittsburgh

Vitamin C ascorbic acid crystals taken alone can be hard on the teeth and the stomach - that is because it is acid. You mix baking soda with ascorbic acid crystals to make it less acid. Baking soda buffers the acid in the ascorbic acid crystals so they are not so acid, so they are easier on your teeth and your stomach. ==>If you have stomach problems you can take 1 tsp baking soda in warm water to alleviate the upset and pain, but it is better to improve digestion first and then you won't have the upset and pain.
