I will be teaching at a University in Wuxi China which is near Shanghai. Hopefully I will be able to follow the diet better over there. from Canada __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi , Great to hear from you again. Sounds exciting. I bet you are looking forward to it. You have a lot more adventure in your soul than I do. Will you have access to the internet where you are going. Please keep in touch and good luck. Guest guest
At least, there is more rice than wheat, maybe? Guest guest
, I wish you the best. Have a great 10 months. My nephew and his wife did the same thing and went to Korea. They love it. Even though it was hard to get size 12 tennis shoes over there, one of his students' father found him a pair. He said that was the biggest problem he had there. Guest guest
I will have a computer in my apartment with high speed access. E-mail isn't always a daily thing in China but I will have access and will keep reading the posts. I am looking forward to the trip. I've only had one week to get ready. Not packed yet but there is always tomorrow. --- Sharon Ferris <sharonferris@...> wrote: > Hi , > > Great to hear from you again. Sounds exciting. I > bet you are looking forward to it. Guest guest
There is definitely more rice than wheat. Wheat is mostly noodles but you can get rice noodles too. --- mcpherson.bg@... wrote: > At least, there is more rice than wheat, maybe? > > Gretchen > ----- Original Message ----- > __________________________________________________

Guest guest
I don't believe they x-ray checked baggage... I think they just x-ray carry-on luggage, but I might be mistaken. > > When flying, all food and suplements that you bring has to go through > that x-ray machine in security. They sometimes do and sometimes not. But on international flights they most certainly x-ray both plus it's too many hors up in the air so the food I'll eat during the travel will for sure have to be x-rayed food...I wonder if it has the same effect as if the food had been irradiated. But the biggest problem is still how I'd get the supplements with me?
Guest guest
, Don't worry about the carry-on x-ray machines. The effects on your items are almost non-existent. (This is the info I got from pilots and flight attendants that I know.) > > > > I don't believe they x-ray checked baggage... Guest guest
If the luggage is x-rayed, I still doubt the food/supplements will have received very much radiation at all... and I'm sure it is not near the amount of irratiated or microwaved food for sure. (But that is a question for Bee, because I'm sure she's looked into it!) > > > > I don't believe they x-ray checked baggage... If in doubt you could wrap supplements in aluminum - I wonder if that would be acceptable to the airlines? Bee
