I had exposure to stachybotrys (black mold). Have had stomach issues for

years. I take Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics Plus and it has helped tremendously. I

also tested moderate levels for blastocystis hominis.

> How likely is it that inhaling mold spores can cause a systemic

yeast infection?

==>Hi Jeannie. Welcome to our group (if I haven't welcomed you

before). Mold spores all by themselves will not cause a yeast

infection because the immune system must also be depressed in order

for candida/yeast to change so that it is overgrowing. Due to a

depressed immune system mold spores will cause further problems, like

an allergic reaction because your body is overloaded with toxins.

Most of those toxins will be produced by candida/yeast, which are over

79 different kinds, but mostly alcohol. The high alcohol content from

yeast toxins explains what your doctor reports in your following

statements.

> At one of my doctor visits she told me I have high amylase levels,

> normal lipase levels..but " it's something we only usually see in

> alcoholics " , she tells me. Well, I don't drink. I do have a blockage

> in my upper right colon which I had read can cause that reaction. I

> also was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia this year.

==>A hiatal hernia is caused by candida/yeast and also because the

body's cells are not constructed like they should be; that's because

you may have been consuming the wrong fats, i.e. man-made vegetable

oils and fats per my article. The body's cells require natural

saturated fats in order for them to be strong and healthy. But also

candida causes all body cells to go rigid (because of the toxins).

> I have been taking acidophilus off and on for years now-at first I

had no idea WHY they made me so darned hungry-now I know why-the die

off effect. Acidophilus is the ONLY thing that makes me feel better. I

told my doctor that-and asked her why it makes me feel so much better,

but received no response, other than to keep taking it if it makes me

feel better. Just for 'fun'-I asked her WHY IT MADE ME SO HUNGRY?? (I

> already had found out the answer myself by then)She also could not

> give me an answer. I also told her it takes away my heartburn-almost

> completely-even if I eat acidic foods, my heartburn isn't as bad, or

> isn't there at all.

> The reason for my question is because I am not the only one

> experiencing symptoms, which began as upset stomach, irritable

bowels with everything I ate...which they have tried to tell me that

it is probably IBS repeatedly, I came back with IBS IS NOT

CONTAGIOUS-and we-my husband, my kids-all have tummy problems/same

symptoms. We use a water filter, but have not had our water checked

yet. We began drinking nothing but bottled water instead with no

improvement. The doctor gave my daughter a stool test(I have never had

one btw), and found blasocystitis, which is already in the intestines

but when found in large amounts can cause symptoms. So, we were all

prescribed with those antibiotics-but again it did not help at all.

> Does anyone know what test I should request the doctor to perform?

==>No tests are conclusive for yeast/candida. The only good one is

Dr. Crook's Candida Questionnaire which is in my article " How to

Successfully Overcome Candida " or do a search on my new website for

it. When you have candida you will also acquire large numbers of

other kinds of bacteria in the intestines, and it causes all kinds of

digestive problems. It seems your whole family has candida, which is

understandable because you've all shared the same diet, lifestyle and

have gone to the doctors for antibiotics or other medical drugs.

==>The most important aspect of getting well again is the diet plus

supplements I recommend in my article " How to Successfully Overcome

Candida " which was emailed to you when you joined. Your whole family

needs to start on the diet - also see the article " Curing Candida, How

to Get Started " . Please read it thoroughly and then you'll understand

so much more about why your family is having digestive upsets, IBS,

etc. Sorry, there are no quick fixes like doctors like to make us

believe. Nutrients, and eating the right foods and no sugars, no bad

fats, no soy, etc. are most important! Heal your body naturally with

good foods and supplements.

My family had suffered from C/O poisoning (100ppm for over five years) My

husband though was not here then and developed his symptoms his first winter

here-exactly the same-started out with a cold/flu and diarreah-but that never

goes away-it comes and goes, based usually on what he eats-and one noticeable

food that sets it off for him now is cheese. My poor daughter-everything makes

her miserable-she is only 12 yrs old.

" A hiatal hernia is caused by candida/yeast and also because the

My son's friend who stays the night here often-is also experiencing the same

symptoms/tummy problems. I'm getting really worried. We do not eat

margarine..butter only my whole life~I don't eat fried foods anymore, everything

is baked or bbq'd.

So, if it has become an allergy now-because of being exposed to it for so long

will diet alone change it? (If we still live here?)

We are going to try and move within the next 3 months, I have lived here for

11 years...and been sick the whole time pretty much. I thought it was only

because of the C/O poisoning, and after that was fixed-we started getting our

oxygen that was robbed daily/nightly-and it made a world of difference then in

my energy levels-and my kids. But, shortly after that was fixed, I had gotten a

cold/flu-ended up in the ER because I thought I was just going to die-dropped

20+pounds in less than three months and was severely dehydrated. I suddenly

suffered from what seemed like food allergies to everything I normally ate. My

husband has suffered the same now-exact pattern.

I have read the entire article, saved it and refer to it. I had no idea about

the microwave! or the dishes-so that was an eye opener. I read everything, and

took the test the first day. I haven't taken the test though where you see if

you burp or not. Probably should do that.

I'm just really worried, my son's friend came into my room the other night

saying his stomach hurts, my daughter left this morning saying her stomach

hurts. They tell me all the time. I can't change my son's friends diet-and

people probably think I am crazy suggesting there is something in this house

causing it. At least that is how I feel.

" No tests are conclusive for yeast/candida. The only good one is

Dr. Crook's Candida Questionnaire which is in my article " How to

I've read that too, but still like to hope I guess.

==>Jeannie, excessive exposure to mold could have caused all of your

immune systems to be depressed. First, it is important to eliminate

the source of the mold - do a Site Search on my new Website with

Mold and you'll get an article on how to clean up household molds.

Second, you need to do the diet plus supplements to build up your

immune systems. Improved nutrients will help a great deal, but the

toxins must also be eliminated.

==>When you have candida there are certain foods that trigger

attacks as listed in my article under Moldy, Fungal & Yeasty Foods,

and also many foods that increase candida growth.

Probably should do that.

==>The test where you burp is to see if your stomach acid is low,

which is true for most candida sufferers.

==>I understand, but unfortunately candida normally lives in

everyone's body and tests are very unreliable. Even if you do not

have candida the main principles of this diet plus supplements will

help improve your health. That's why I set up my website " Healing

Naturally by Bee " - this program would even help people with

cancer! Nutrients and getting rid of toxins are the 2 most

important aspects of getting well.

Dear Bee,

Thank you for responding. C/O stands for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning,

which was coming from our gas furnace.

I've read how to get rid of mold, and I will read it again and again.

Is there a difference between molds? I don't mean types of mold, I

mean mold is the same as mildew-the stuff that grows around damp

windowsills? or on wood outside?

Hi Jeannine,

I saw your message only tonight. I think that an environmental

medicine M.D. would strongly suggest that you leave that place as

soon as possible. Or at the very least, that you clean it up

completely and properly. Molds like that are toxic. If you and your

family were in great health and not affected by it, it might be a

different story (I have friends -husband and wife - who have lived

forever in (very) moldy houses and don't seem to be affected by it).

But without wanting to sound like an alarmist, I would say from

personal experience, don't wait until it really affects you a lot. My

immune system was already somewhat weakened by hypoglycemia when I

moved in a moldy apartment, which made me sick, further depressing my

immune system. Shortly after moving elsewhere, that's when candida

happened and continued to increase. This lead to multiple chemical

sensitivities and a full blown severe health crisis. If I had known

then what I know now, I wouldn't have waited to get out of my place,

and would not have continued to go to my then boyfriend's place which

was in a desastrous state mold wise.

Take good care,

Fran
