Re: Cabbage juice and ginger tea

Hello:

Can anyone in the group tell me whether we can have cabbage juice (diluted

with the same amount of water) and if we can how much is ok to have and when to

have it (before or after we eat). I have read that it is very good for

digestive problems. Also, have been drinking ginger tea at least twice a day.

Is this ok? If anyone can help me I wld be most appreciative.

strength is okay too. Try 1/4 cup in the middle of your meal which

includes plenty of good fats and protein. Two cups of ginger tea a day

is fine, or more, if you wish.

Just one word of caution on the ginger tea: In asian medicine, ginger

is used to clean the stomach - by inducing the urge to vomit. Well, it

is effective but it may take a while. I've used ginger root 2 years

ago and learned the hard way.

Dear Ellie,

That's weird. I used to use it whenever I had a sour stomach. It always calmed

it down.

I've used up to 2 inches of fresh ginger in my egg drink with no problems.

I have been drinking it a lot and never had any problems with vomiting.

you are concerned about something I recommend please write to me

offlist!

The ginger tea recipe I recommend would not cause a person to vomit.

Give me a break!!! I've used it for over 20 years and my stomach is

terribly sensitive but it's never caused me to vomit!!

Dear Jill,

Please do not allow other member's posts to alarm you. I've been

having ginger tea off and on for over 20 years and I've never had it

cause me to want to vomit. In fact it does the opposite; it settles

down my stomach, and my stomach was my worst problem!!

I had that reaction after using ginger root continuously for 3 weeks

and I had several cups per day. I'm not saying ginger is bad or that

a short time treatment is not ok. But as with a lot of natural

treatments - it is the how much you take and for how long - that

makes the difference. Use ayurveda+ginger to google and there is a

wealth of information to be found.

I also have no probs wiith ginger fwiw...I've also used heaps of raw ginger over

the past 5 years or more & find if anything it settles my stomach ....I usually

have it with things like the egg drink or other food puree things we make in

blender.
