Guest guest
maxine, thank you SO much. i have my cane too LONG, i need to shorten it. thanks thanks thanks. i thought it felt awkward. LOL i'm learning so much from you all, and i still need to answer those emails -- lol, i'm so lazy, blah!!!!!!!!! no energy whatsoever, not even to type. ugh! ---Lindy, when you're standing straight, with shoes on, and your arms hanging naturally at your sides, the cane, standing at your GOOD side, should be at a length where the top of the handle is even with the creases of the inside of your wrist. (Turn your hand so the palm is up and look at your wrist. You will see creases on your wrist. These are what we mean when we say the top of the cane should be even with the creases on the inside of your wrist.)If you have the cane too short, you will be leaning forward when you place it on the ground to walk with it and that will cause back pain etc, which you don't want.If you have it too long, then you will be putting too much weight on the arm, causing pain and catching the cane on the floor when moving it forward. You want the cane at a length where there is a very slight bend in the elbow when you place the cane on the floor while walking.Hope this helps explain it. Have a good day! ..... Maxine
Guest guest
Hi KT, Congratulations on your success! Keep up the good work. Just wondering if you exercise daily doing the 1 hour/day walk or the rebounder? Also what are you putting on your skin and where did you get it from? I'm on Day 3 of Phase 2 and just want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Guest guest
Hi Michele, Great to hear from you! To be honest, I was exercising daily before I began. I was walking an hour a day at the gym to try to lose weight, but since I began the protocol, I've stopped because I don't have a car (live in Boston - a walking city) and walk about two miles per day without the gym. I can sleep more if I don't go to the gym, so I've stopped. I'm not using anything on my skin, but am using petroleum jelly for my lips occasionally... probably not so good, but I couldn't find any lip balm without lanolin. I did order Magick Oil Free shampoo and conditioner from alerg.com because I was worried that my conditioner might have oil in it. I also ordered the coral calcium sachets from amazon.com to put into my water, so that I'd still be getting enough calcium. The only other thing that I'm doing is using organic food and herbs as KT suggests. Just so you know, I often won't lose for a few days and then lose 3 lbs at once, so don't get discouraged by that. I weighed myself today and after 16 days, I am down to 231 lbs from 248 lbs. It's exactly what KT promises! I am really excited for you as you begin. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you! Good luck and stay strong and let me know if you need some support. Best wishes, KathleenMICHELE MOUZON <iwillwlkbyfth@...> wrote: Hi KT, Congratulations on your success! Keep up the good work. Guest guest
Is it ok to still exercise while on this diet or is it to hard on the body as it heals?

Is your name Ariel? Yes it is okay to do mild exercises, but doing exercises that are too strenuous will take energy away from the healing process. The most important aspect of healing is the nutrients, not exercise. Bee
Guest guest
Hey , aren't we glad we found this place??? LOL I used to look soooo much better! My weight has not really changed, but since I haven't been able to exercize, I've really gotten flabby!!! I see rolls I never saw before, and things jiggle that shouldn't!!! I'd consider the lap band if I weren't so afraid of another surgery! I'm not bouncing back from the flare the one in Jan for my knee gave me.... although if my hubby would do it WITH me, it would be nice!!! LOL well, again, it's a tool only, and you do hear of people gaining back ALL their weight PLUS some, so you really have to research your options and speak to your doctor and decide together what is the right thing for you. Some people swear by it and say it gave them back a quality of life they could not have gotten otherwise..... food for thought??? LOL Jo In a message dated 10/3/2008 11:35:33 P.M. Guest guest
if your brother will take a class that's great. but walking really can help. my 16 year-old daughter is very inactive and has always been overweight, even though i am careful about what she eats. i got her a treadmill and started her at 10 minutes a day then slowly worked up to 25 minutes a day. in about 6 weeks she has lost 5 pounds. i really thought it would be close to impossible to get her to do it but she complains minimally. So, I suppose that he couldn't do anything too stressful. His doctors want him to exercise more but I'm not sure that walking alone is going to help. My mother picked up a brochure from our local YMCA and there are various classes that are being offered. I was wondering if he would be capable of doing any. I, myself, wish to join a class or two there so I could being in a class with him. They have step aerobics as well as Low Impact Aerobics that don't sound too hard for him to do. Could anyone give me suggestions?

Guest guest
Will his doctors let him use a treadmill or exercise bike ? If you put one in front of the TV, he can get some exercise in while still watching something to distract him from how long he's really moving for. > > My brother is 5'10 " and weighs 283 lbs.
