Guest guest
Hi again everyone! Well I am doing fine with dropping grains and sugar...I dont even miss my carrots too much...but giving up nuts is killing me!! I find that whenever I am hungry all I want to do is reach for a handful of almonds or cashews...its crazy! I also find that not having soy butter...I used to eat it instead of peanut butter...is really hard.... I have heard that the things you crave most when you give them up are the things that were really bad for you. Is this true? Coz I am dying from no nuts!! Are nuts and soy really that bad?? Also, I have not yet begun using Coconut oil. Months ago before I went on this diet I used it for a few days becuase I read it was good for you. I was really sick on those days, had stomach spasms and terrible diaoheera...at the time I thought it was as a result of the saturated fat content ( I have IBS and fat is meant to be a trigger). I am hesitant to try it again...Does CO cause IBS symptoms? Is fat an IBS trigger as all doctors say? I really did enjoy the taste... Thanks again everyone. My downfall was potato or corn chips. I discovered kim chi minus the pepper. I make my own using bok choy green onions garlic and ginger. I find turning to the kim chi for my need to crunch something works very well. I always have kim chi on hand incase I start craving something I shouldn't have. Guest guest
Most people can't digest soy or nuts, not only because of the phytic acid but out digestive systems were not meant to handle it, You craving them is your body craving starch, It is definitly the yeast crying out for food _________________________________________________________________ Get today's hot entertainment gossip http://movies.msn.com/movies/hotgossip?icid=T002MSN03A07001

See if some articles in the Candida Symptoms, Help for Folder can help you. There's an article on Food Cravings and how to handle them but I don't have time to look it up - see the 2nd Folder for the Candida LIST of Files, Folders & Links and use your browser's Edit Find to find " craving " . > > I have heard that the things you crave most when you give them up are the things that were really bad for you. Is this true? Coz I am dying from no nuts!! Are nuts and soy really that bad?? ==>Yes they are really bad; nuts are extremely hard to digest particularly by candida sufferers and anyone with digestive problems. The very easiest foods to digest are meats, eggs and good nature-made fats. Nuts must be soaked and dried to make them fit for human consumption because of phytates that block mineral absorption and enzymes that interfere with protein digestion. ==>About soy, please re-read that section in my main article! It actually causes thyroid problems and is very damaging to the body. > Also, I have not yet begun using Coconut oil. Months ago before I went on this diet I used it for a few days becuase I read it was good for you. Is fat an IBS trigger as all doctors say? I really did enjoy the taste... ==>That is absolutely untrue that saturated fat is a trigger for IBS. In fact good nature-made fats like CO, butter, lard, etc. are very necessary to heal and strengthen the intestines. What causes IBS is candida overgrowth and bad foods, particularly fibres - see the Candida Diet Folder for information on bad foods, fibres, etc. Doctors got us all in this fix so why should be believe them? ==>However, coconut oil is antifungal and you must start at a low dose and only gradually increase it or you will get healing symptoms, i.e. diarrhea (the body's way of getting rid of toxins), upset stomach, etc. Start with only 1 tsp per day or 1/2 tsp twice a day and every 4 days increase it by 1 tsp so you can minimize the healing reactions. Guest guest
Thanks Bee. I was really confused about the fat triggering IBS. The more I come to understand this diet the more I see how wrong all the medical advice I have been given in my life has been. Its no wonder I have been unwell since childhood. I have been on high fibre low fat for years to " manage " my IBS. I will stick with it and gradually introduce Coconut oil. Thanks again Lelita >From: " Bee Wilder " <beeisbuzzing2003@...> >Reply- > >Subject: [ ] Re: Nuts and Soy and coconut oil >Date: Wed, 01 Nov 2006 04:39:52 -0000 > > > > Hi again everyone! But that will change over time if you increase CO gradually. Eating it with full meals helps minimize reactions too. ==>That's wonderful you are learning Lelita! You'll be the winner! Guest guest
I discovered kim chi minus the pepper. ... but what exactly is this? How do you make it? Sounds good. Gail I modified the Kim Chi recipe that is in the Recipe Folder under fermented foods. I don't know why but I am unable to open the folder. I keep getting a message that says bad request. Anyway I don't add the pepper and I just use bok choy and green onions. About 1/4 c ginger with about 3-4 cloves garlic pureed into a paste. 1 TBL celtic salt per quart of water. I pack it all into mason jars and let sit at room temperature for 5-7 days. Actually I make mine in a 3 qt pickle jar using 2 large heads of bok choy. It has an amazing sour taste. enjoy...
