Guest guest
Hi, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not put anything with any paraben in or on your child. ALL parabens are very dangerous and should not be in anything that comes near us much less a child. You can use propolis, which has a numbing effect. You will need to find a tincture that perferably does not have alcohol in it. They do exist. Also organic vanilla extract with no alcohol can be used and will help the area. Then there is the green part of a salad onion ( I think they are called scallions in the US). There is an ingredient in the green part that naturally numbs the gum. Slightly wet a wash cloth and put it in the freezer for a short time, just enough to make it cold NOT frozen hard. let the child chew on the cloth obviously with supervision. Cold cucumbers to chew on. Hope this helps in the UK
Guest guest
Would clove oil be any good? It is sold in my health food shop for toothache. Miriam
Guest guest
Hi Miriam, I didn't mention clove oil as it is possible to cause die off in the baby if the child as any candida issues, thus adding to the crankiness that goes with teething at times. in the UK On Dec 28, 2007 11:18 AM, miriam_hinch <miriam_hinch@...> wrote: > Would clove oil be any good? Guest guest
I did mix some with coconut oil but it just doesn't last as long. I have found a spray that is ok we will see how that works. Thanks > > Would clove oil be any good? Guest guest
Here are a few ideas that helped my son when he was teething. 1)Massaging his gums with a tiny bit of clove oil on my finger, he really loved me doing this. 2)Bathing him in an soothing herbal bath and letting him chew on the wet washcloth. 3)A hard teething ring with little bumps on it to chew on, alternated with a freezer teething ring to chew on. Most of all stay calm and loving, try not to get caught up in what they are going through because they pick up on it and get even more upset. If you can't calm down and have someone to help you, maybe it is time to take a break and let them take the baby for a little while. Go take a few deep breaths do a little stretching, take a walk or do something to relax, like taking an herbal or H20 bath. Make sure you have enough nourishment like Bee's Egg Drink for those much needed breaks with supplements. Hope this helps. :-) Debra NW

Kids love to chew on it because of the texture and it numbs their gums some. Also you can rub " alum " into the gums (found in a drug store).
