Guest guest
Hi I have just discovered 6 weeks ago that I am a Candida sufferer & since I started the diet/supplements I have been feeling much better but I still have this constant unquenchable thirst! I only drink water but still feel constantly dehydrated sometimes drinking up to 3 or 4 litres a day. Any ideas on if this candida related? It's definitely not diabetes I have been tested numerous times. THANKs! Amber

The main cause of thirst is adrenal malfunctioning and most candida sufferers have that problem. That is mainly because candida toxins make all of the body's cells go rigid so it makes it more difficult for organs to function normally and any hormones (and nutrients) produced are less able to get into rigid cells. The adrenal glands produce a number of hormones which are essential to life. Two corticosteroids hormones that are produced are aldersterone and hydrocostisone. They are most important because they: -regulate the quantity of salt and water in the body, -are instrumental in the regulation of sodium and potassium re- absorption by the specific cells within the kidneys (this would also cause ***excessive thirst***), -control carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism, - and help fight stressful situations. For adrenal gland treatments see the " Adrenal Malfunction and How to Treat It " in our Candida Group Files (left menu) and find the " C) Treatments " Folder. In order for your body's cell to utilize water they require two important things: 1) good saturated fats and other fats like omega-3, and vitamins A, D & E - all of the good fats work together; and 2) minerals as recommended in my Candida articles, particularly good ocean sea salt like Celtic (called Nature's Cargo in Canada) - so having my Electrolyte Drink would be important for you - see the Recipe in my Candida Articles or in our Group's Recipe Folder (left menu) under Drinks. Guest guest
HI Wayne I couldn't live without my diuretic which I take daily. As soon as I stop, I just fill up with water from top to bottom, especially my ankles and feet which can be pretty painful when bloated. Many hypothyroid people carry excess fluid, probably the bodies slow metabolism not doing the job it should and getting rid of this excess makes people feel absolutely fantastic and they can literally lose pounds within the week. I take Co-Amizolide 50 mgs and have had these for years. problem is, I know now that my skin is suddenly really becoming dried out and I will probably look like an old prune one day, and now I am learning to drink, drink, and yet drink more water throughout the day. I am well now after being on Armour for 4 years, but I still have water retention. luv - Sheila Re: Thirst Hi Lee,Do you also get a bloated/heavy feeling on occasions too? I should imagine that this is a symptom of the water retention. Perhaps someone might correct me if i'm wrong, but us water retention as a result of not drinking enough water in the same way that the body preserves fats if one does not eat properly etc?All the bestWayne>> Hi Wayne,> > I have to say that I've also noticed this.
