Guest guest
Hi Bee! I've been out of the loop since the Spring, but now that I am at home with a new baby I can get on the computer! So our little angel was born a week ago in our living room. Her name is Jane and she's a good baby. I'm breastfeeding and one side is super sore and is a shooting pain when she first starts to nurse, then it is just sensitive after that. Her little tongue is always white. Does this mean she has thrush? I am so ready to get back on the candida diet. While pregnant I didn't have any problems with dairy, sugar or wheat so of course I indulged, now I'm paying for it. I had some chocolate the other day and now my rash is back. It's amazing how those pregnancy hormones can mask all the symptoms of candida. I had a terrific pregnancy, no complaints. I worked right up til she was born and thank goodness for Hypnobirthing. No pain meds and I had her in 4.5 hours. It was a joy to have her at home. Highly recommended. I know we are very lucky that things went so well. Anyway, any advice is appreciated. I looked through the other emails and so far it looks like I need to do coconut oil with her and the nipples. What about oil of oregano? I thought it was bad for pregnant women, but what about breastfeeding? Thanks Kim

I'm so very happy for you. > > I'm breastfeeding and one side is super sore and is a shooting pain > when she first starts to nurse, then it is just sensitive after that. Her little tongue is always white. Does this mean she has thrush? ==>Sounds like you have some kind of disturbance in one side. I am reluctant to call it an infection because it scares people. I suggest you treat that side, and in the meantime pump out your milk so production doesn't slow down. In the meantime the other breast will increase production so your baby will get enough milk. I had that with my first daughter, but I took tetracycline antibiotics for it which was horrible for my health. ==>What you want to do is to help your body deal with the disturbance, by applying mustard plasters to your breast (you can find many goods ones on the internet), and in between plasters rub coconut oil mixed with about 1/3rd garlic oil into it (particularly into the nipple) and apply wet heat on top to help the breast absorb it; other mothers might also have some recommendations for you. > > I am so ready to get back on the candida diet. That's wonderful you had such a good pregnancy and birth! Very well done Kim! > > Anyway, any advice is appreciated. I've made my own garlic infused oil by crushing it, mincing it, and putting it in a dropper bottle with coconut oil. Unfortunately it takes awhile to make it - I think there there is a recipe in our Recipe Folder. ==>Treat your baby's thrush with coconut oil; also see the Folder " Candida Treatments for Babies & Children " . Let us know how it goes for you! Luv, Bee
