Guest guest
I will continue reading and learning before I make any further statements here ... but I just wanted to ask if others have a problem with bad breath??? I sometimes lick the back of my hand and wait a little while before sniffing it. Usually I do this if someone has told me I have a bad breath, or if I suspect I might. I have a foul, sour smell. I don't want to gargle or spray with mint flavoured breath fresheners because of the salicylates and other chemicals, so I try not to get close to anyone .... in case I offend them. I also have dark circles under my eyes most days and sometimes get a smelly belly button and/or behind my ears (and sometimes tinea between toes) Sorry this is long. Mainly just wanted to ask about the bad breath issue. Also (sorry) ... is it acceptable to take Yakult?? And I can't seem to find out why yoghurt isn't allowed on the diet. Thanks, >Hi – I also have bad breath which is embarrassing and it can be a sign of candida overgrowth. As the candida dies off and goes back to its normal stage, the bad breath should subside to my knowledge. Also, taking chlorofresh should help with bad breath also. Interesting that you say that about the belly button – mine does that, too, at times. And when I do allow myself a little bit of coffee (like ¼ cup) which is not allowed on this program, I not only sweat quite a bit under my arms, but the sweat smells horribly strong. It’s very strange to me but I am sure there is an explanation. a
Guest guest
> Hi Everyone, ==>Hi . Welcome to our group. > > I'm new here too and have been wading through the literature, trying to make sense of it all. I'm almost positive I have a candida overgrowth (have suspected that for ages, but doctor just keeps saying, " you don't have thrush " ) I asked him if it would hurt to take a Diflucan tablet to kill of anything that might be there .... but I'm glad he didn't agree. I did a google search and found it's quite a dangerous drug. ==>That is great that your doctor didn't agree to taking Diflucan! > > I get hives (and anaphylaxis) ... and have done the rounds of doctors, specialists, allergists, etc. Years ago was put on a low carb. diet by an immunologist to lower my very high insulin. I lost weight, lowered the insulin and felt terrific. > No hives during that time at all. As I added more carbohydrates to my diet I still felt good but the weight started to come back. Then I took a couple of Nurofen tablets for toothache and had a massive anaphylactic shock. I had no idea Nurofen acts like aspirin (which I had been avoiding since my first attack because I'd had a Disprin and the doctor suspected aspirin sensitivity. I found the Failsafe website and joined. I've been on a low salicylate diet for about a year now ... but still had a few episodes of hives (with a couple resulting in anaphylaxis) I haven't been happy with the Failsafe diet because of the amount of sugar that's allowed, but I've kept my own diet relatively low carb. ==>The Failsafe diet claims that salicylates and amines in foods should be eliminated, which leads many people to eliminate good foods for no good reason. Any substances can be isolated from good natural foods and be found to make people react negatively to them, but whole foods are different. I don't believe in maligning whole natural foods. > > The high fat part of your diet is music to my ears. I don't. ==>That is wise of you. > Sometimes it's hard to weed out truth from fiction, but when you have to find a reason for your ill health, the internet is the best place to look. I believe, when the timing is right, we are pointed in the right direction. Body odors and bad breath are mainly caused by toxins, and by a messed up digestive system. Candida itself puts out over 79 different kinds of toxins, most of which are alcohol. Have you ever smelled an alcoholic's breath? It is very sour and foul. > > I also have dark circles under my eyes most days and sometimes get a smelly belly button and/or behind my ears (and sometimes tinea between toes) ==>Dark circles, and your other problems are caused by toxins too, and tinea is a fungus. It is important to not only follow the diet and take all supplements, but also to help your body detoxify; see our Group's Files (left menu) and find the " Candida Symptoms, Help For " Folder and read the article " How to Detoxify Effectively. " > > Sorry this is long. Mainly just wanted to ask about the bad breath issue. Also (sorry) ... is it acceptable to take Yakult?? And I can't seem to find out why yoghurt isn't allowed on the diet. ==>The reason you do not have yoghurt is because it contains lactose, which changes into another sugar called " galactose " during fermentation. No dairy products should be consumed other than butter, ghee, or butter oil. The rule is " the higher the butterfat content the lower the lactose. " Cheers, Bee
Guest guest
Hi , I saw Bee responded to your email, but I just wanted to share a few things. Salicylates, or salicylic acid is said, by some, to have anitfungal properties, so when diets tell you to avoid them, they are actually encouraging people to avoid substances that help kill Candida. The reasons these diets " seem " to work is that they reduce die off reactions, so people do feel better at first. But, since it just reduces die off, but doesn't kill Candida, in the long run, the diet doesn't solve the main problem. I agree with you about loving the high fat part of the diet. I too love chicken skin, pork fat, butter, all the stuff main stream nutrition says I shouldn't have. The funny thing is now that I have been on the diet for awhile the strong cravings I had for those items have lessened, and I can't help but think that those cravings were because I needed to eat more fats, and now that I get enough, I don't crave it so badly anymore. Anyway, welcome to the group! Happy to have you! Guest guest
Hi a, Not sure if you know this or not but if you are craving the taste of coffee, swiss water decaf coffee IS allowed. It taste great, as far as coffee goes, though it is more expensive. BUT it is allowed, so you might want to look into that. I LOVE it! Guest guest
I don't recall seeing the recipe for the coffee shake. Is it in the files? This is a variation of the Bee Drink recipe. I have added more eggs, fats and spices and less water with the swiss water processed decaf coffee concentrate replacing some of the water. I drink it throughout the day in place of two meals.I can send you the exact recipe if you are interested. Of course I had to slowly build up to the extra spices(eg. I add 2 tsp. of clove powder instead of 1 instead of drinking clove tea but you could keep spice ratios as they are) and fats to reduce die off but now I do well on it and find it delicious. Anita T. Guest guest
Hi Anita, Your recipe caught my eye. I also love coffee and have been drinking organic de-caf every now and then as I am not sure if it is really okay. I must say I don't really know what Swiss decaf means. I've never heard of it here in Belgium. Is it okay to drink it every day? I would love to have your full recipe also and hopefully one of these days I will start with the raw eggs. Thank you Nicola for posting where to get it, that was going to be my next questions. regards, Perihan > Hi Irene, > No, there's no coffee shake recipe in the files. Guest guest
Hi Perihan, Swiss water decaf is decaf that is made using only water to decaf the coffee beans. Other decafs use chemicals, so that's why they are to be avoided. Check out this site, its has a funny video to explain the processs. http://www.swisswater.com/decaf/process Additionally, for the coffee " shake " I make, its actually just bees egg drink but instead of water I add two cups of swiss water decaf, and I don't add any of the spices. Its just raw eggs, butter, coconut oil, and decaf. But Anita's version sounds better, would love to see that recipe too. " ) Jecca > > ...I must say I don't really know what Swiss decaf means.
