Ok thanks for reply Bee...and thanks to others who replied re this thread as

well.

Regarding Extra virgin olive oil I do think you can buy decent brands at the

supermarket if you buy sensibly ...our supermarkets for eg have " home brand " &

this is not a brand of extra virgin Olive oil I would trust much ...it is the

cheapest & sold in clear glass bottles ....(it still claims to be extra virgin

& cold pressed.)

Logically if a quality olive oil is produced then you would assume that the

manufacturer would understand enough to know that light would/can degrade the

product over time & would theresfore want to make sure it was not in a clear

bottle..if they won't even take this step to ensure quality ..you have to wonder

what other quality steps they are also skipping in the production/shipping

process.

But there are some decent Italian brands sold in 4 litre opaque tin drums in the

supermarkets(imo) ..(I realize its still a bit of a crap shoot though)

Hi ,

What part of OZ are you in? Here are a couple of places for you to check out

depending on where you are for free range meat:

http://www.mountaincreekfarm.com.au <http://www.mountaincreekfarm.com.au/>

these guys are in the ACT

http://pastureperfect.nourishedmagazine.com.au/2007/08/15/good-food-in-the-c

ountry these guys are in Northern NSW, at the top of the page it says

Contact Author and you can contact Miriam and Jack that way.

I hope that helps - maybe not if your in WA!
