Guest guest
No that is normal. Keep in mind that poop is just bacteria, food and other matter that our body can't use or needs to get out. You'll find that your poop is less smelly as time goes on because of less bacteria. Also that you need to go a lot less because your body uses all of what you give it. I also eat a very large quantity of veggies each day. About 9 cups of broccoli and 3 cups of green beans which amounts to 35+ grams of fiber, and I still don't go very often. Even with plenty of fiber there's not much that goes unused. Luv, Debby San , CA --- fernfam3 <fernfam3@...> wrote: > I'm asking because maybe what I think is > constipation really isnt. I'm still having problems " going. " But in the past couple weeks I've been able to go a little here and there all by myself without taking any magnesium. I figure that is a good sign. Too much bacteria in me yet though. I did think returning to normal would be having significant bm's daily, but if your body is using everything up then that makes sense that you wouldn't have all that waste to eliminate. Thanks. Guest guest
> > These poop matters are a bit confusing to me. I read about healthy bowel movements in the files and I thought the consensus was that a healthy person would have a bowel movement 2-3 times a day? A year ago, I noticed my bowel movements started changing. I used to go easily once or twice a day and then starting about a year ago (after having been following the dietary principles of the Weston Price Foundation for about a year) I noticed I didnt go as much. I just didnt have the urge. I'd love to say that it was because I just didnt have any poop, but I don't think that's the case with me. I say this because, if I'd get stressed out about something, than my anxiety would affect my bowels and I'd go poop. When I DO have the urge, it's like I have to do all the work, cuz my bowels are slugginsh or something. I pass gass and many times the stool I pass will be round and hard, like a golf ball. But, it's not painful and I don't walk around all day feeling terrible. Does any of this make sense? Thank You for reading this, >
Guest guest
If this is the case I'm guessing you need more good fats and water to help with lubrication. Stools are hard not because a lack of fiber but because of a lack of water and fats that help lubricate them and keep them from getting hard. Fiber does not make poop softer. Going more often is not better... it just means you have more garbage in, therefore more garbage out. Guest guest
Also if your poops are too hard, more lubrication is needed - that's good fats and more water. I've been getting my recommended fat (169 grams) of fat in my diet now for the past few weeks which is a huge difference in what it was a few months ago, at least double. Around a year ago, I started drinking less water than when I was pregnant and nursing. I used to drink a glass with every meal but when I learned through the Weston Price Foundation that water dilutes stomach acid during meals, I would only sip on water and then wait at least 30 minutes before drinking anything. I used to carry liter bottles of water with me everywhere and now I don't do that. I drink at least 3 electrolyte drinks a day, sometimes four. Then I drink probably another 2 cups of filtered water with concentrace drops in it throughout the day. If fiber isnt a factor in poop, than why was Metumucil able to soften my stools after Bernie's birth? (I didnt have constipation but I needed something that would soften my stools enough so the stools would just slip out without any effort on my part. (Slight vaginal tearing made BM difficult the first few days) Does Metumucil contain a stimulant and just masquerades as a fiber drink? Vegans do have more movements, and they are bulkier because of all the undigested fibres. I've never in my life had 2-3 per day except when I had diarrhea. I think 1 per day is healthy. > A year ago, I noticed my bowel movements started changing. Thank You for reading this, ==>When you were following the dietary principles of WAPF I believe you started eating more meats and eggs and less carbs but you did not eat enough fats in ratio to proteins. Your stomach needs liquid to make chyme (mixture of foods and liquids) for digestion. If you look at old movies depicting times prior to the 1900s where there are big banquets you will see that everyone is drinking with their meals. Standard table settings include water glasses and other beverages. Those standards are there for a good reason. >I used to carry liter bottles of water with me everywhere and now I don't do that. Drinking too much water is unnecessary and you just run to the bathroom and overwork your kidneys - there are articles in the Water Folder that explains why you don't want too much water - I think a couple are from Dr. Mercola's website. ==> I suggest you do the 9-day program in the Digestion Folder. I read about the program in the files after you suggested it to me a few days ago. I'm worried about what it will do to my emotions. I always get snippy and downright mean when I'm hungry and I'm concerned about being like that for 9 days. My poor daughter Bernadette would bear the brunt of it as I stay home with her. Also, I'd hate to give up all my supplements, it took me awhile to get on the ones I'm on already. Could I maybe try the Vitamin C Flush first? I've read that file over several times. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the point of it is to flush out toxins that cause constipation in the first place, so after doing the flush, my system would normalize? I'm also not taking the digestive enzymes yet. You recommended them to me after I told you about my green poop from taking the Chlorophyll. I read somewhere in the files that lack of stomach acid can cause constipation. I have the enzymes, I'm just nervous about taking them because I don't want to throw up, which I gathered from the files was a possibility. Please be patient with me, I'm an anxious soul. Thanks for your patience thus far!

Do eat your daily ratios of proteins to good fats to carbs while you are on it. > My poor daughter Bernadette would bear the brunt of it as I stay home with her. ==>Knock off taking out your emotions on your daughter. That's not okay and you can, and must, control it. Sorry, but I get quite ticked when kids bear the brunt of anything like that. > Also, I'd hate to give up all my supplements, it took me awhile to get on the ones I'm on already. He says I might start getting irritable if it's coming around noontime and I'm hungry, but that I always tell him that I'm feeling irritable and I focus on getting the meal on. He says I don't take it out on Bernie. The incident that was on my mind was a few weeks ago during a bad bout of PMS where I was extremely weepy and crying for no reason. I didnt want Bernie to see me in that state so for a few days I had to drop her off at my Mom's house, and I felt terrible about doing that. I guess I felt that going on the 9 day program would increase my irritablity to such an extreme like my weepiness was and I'd find myself again taking her over to my Mom's house until I could regain my composure. It has never happened, but I was doing " What if thinking " . Really all the phrase " bearing the brunt of it " reveals is my ignorance about the correct usage of a phrase I picked up somewhere. Anyone who knows me personally knows that I consider my role as wife and mother my Christian vocation. God gave me my husband and daughter to make me a saint. I grow in virtue by raising her and serving my family. All decisions we make concerning Bernadette are made based on the fact that we are God's children. Becoming a mother has taught me so much about love and patience and I continue to grow and learn . > > ==>Knock off taking out your emotions on your daughter. That's not > okay and you can, and must, control it. Sorry, but I get quite > ticked when kids bear the brunt of anything like that. You are absolutely correct!! I say that all the time and have gone up to Moms in the grocery store who are hitting their children because they won't stop crying. I try very hard to be above my emotions. Again, the comment about my being, " snippy and mean " refers to occasional bouts of irritablilty. In those bouts I try to be above my emotions. But my bout of PMS weepiness was so extreme that I was afraid of how bad my irritability could get. But the worse thing that would happen is maybe a few more days with Grandma until the progam was over. > > > Also, I'd hate to give up all my supplements, it took me awhile to > get on the ones I'm on already. But on the 9-day program you wouldn't have to go off supplements either. What helps most in that program is pureed foods and clear water enemas. I do not know whether your system would normalize for sure after the flush. But it won't hurt to do it. <snip> > Forgive me for writing a post that was not well- thought out and thus took up space.
