Guest guest
Hi Doug, 4000mg of Vit C, subsequently 1,000mg of Vit C hourly till you get loose stool. It's amazing how much Vit C sick people can tolerate. WOrks for me everytime Joni Doug <organyze@...> wrote: My wife is constipated (from eating things she shouldn't) and wants to be over that before beginning the diet fully... she won't listen to my advice yet, but I'm sure she'll come around. Guest guest
Hi Doug, Your wife could also try larger doses of magnesium (I'm pretty sure that's allowed - please correct me if I'm wrong, somebody!)...I have some 'Oxy powder' left over from a colon cleanse I did before starting with Bee, and the mega doses of magnesium help with bowel movements. She'd need extra water with that, preferably with lemon juice added. I like to use the fat from a roasted joint of lamb as a gravy substitute. I'm eating pretty plainly these days, hardly touching veg, but using up the fat as you described sounds common sense to me. Love, Nicola > > My wife is constipated (from eating things she shouldn't) and wants > to be over that before beginning the diet fully... she won't listen > to my advice yet, but I'm sure she'll come around. Guest guest
Doug, Couldn't rest easy until I'd checked that what I said to you is right! Anyway, here follows Bee's comprehensive constipation treatment advice as given in the Files (that awesome labyrinth of information!) Nicola " To treat constipation successfully it requires a combination of diet, supplements, and plenty of " good " fats, such as coconut oil, butter, lard, etc. Water is important however drinking too much causes its own set of problems – see the Water Folder for more information. Also, raw foods are not helpful for people who are constipated, except for raw egg yolks, undercooked meats, and raw fats and oils. Raw plant foods (carbs) are very hard for humans to digest, whereas animal meats and good fats are very easy to digest. Helpful Treatments A combination of some of these treatments is very helpful, in addition to the recommendations for " good " fats and diet. 1. Acidophilus powder or capsules will quickly stabilize the bowel whether constipated or runny. Take 5 billion active units every 30 minutes. 2. Megadoses of Vitamin C - Take 4,000 mgs the first dose, and 1,000 mgs every hour until bowel tolerance is reached, i.e. loose stools. Sodium ascorbate may work better than tablets, which is a mixture of equal amounts ascorbic acid crystals and baking soda, with water added. Most ascorbic acid crystals contain 1,000 to 1,200 mgs of vitamin C per 1/4 teaspoon. 3. Megadoses of magnesium (along with the usual daily amount of calcium), take 250 mgs 4-6 times a day for up to 3 days. 4. Extra " good " fats, i.e. coconut oil, butter, lard, etc., - take 2 tablespoons 6 or more times a day. 5. No raw foods plants foods (carbs). Lightly steam vegetables. Some people even need to puree vegetables. Raw fats, oils, eggs, and undercooked meats are fine. 6. The diet must be strictly followed – see the Candida Diet in the article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida. " Constipation should be treated as quickly as possible so the person can receive the benefit of a nutrient-dense diet. It takes a long time to get to the point of having constipation so it may take time and a diligent concerted effort to overcome it. Guest guest
<snip> > Also, I'm very relieved that there aren't a lot of supplements to > take on Bee's plan!!! The last time I tried to fight candida 6 years ago, it's scary to remember HOW MANY different supplements I was taking. (Garlic, caprylic acid, Bentonite/psyllium shakes, oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, milk thistle, vit b, c, a, d, zinc, probiotics w/FOS, chromium, Cal/Mag, etc...) As I said before, I took so many supplements last time that my hair began to fall out, and I felt 2X worse on the diet/supplements as I did before. > > Thank you Bee. This food is wonderful, and " livable " . The > supplements are very economical. I CAN DO THIS!!!! ==>You are so very welcome Doug! It's back to the basics, which is following Nature's Laws as written by Dr. Weston A. Price. > > My wife is constipated (from eating things she shouldn't) and wants > to be over that before beginning the diet fully... she won't listen > to my advice yet, but I'm sure she'll come around. Any quick > constipation advice???? ==>She would be doing it backwards by " trying to " get over her constipation prior to changing her diet. But she does need to gradually decrease carbs at the same rate as she is able to increase her fats. Fats are so important in treating constipation. Also see the article " Constipation Treatments " in the Folder " C) Digestion & Digestive Problems, Help for " in our Group's Files. <snip> > Thank you Bee. I think this diet is like a good dog... you don't > find it... it finds YOU! I'm glad God allowed me to find this place. ==>I like your " good dog " analogy. I'm so glad you found me too Doug! It's onward and upward my friend! The best in health, Bee
Guest guest
No need to appologize, Doug. I just was marvelling at how often you post but its not a bad thing. For every question you ask, there are at least 10 others who are probably wondering the same thing. And for every experience you share there are probably ten others who are relieved to know that they are not alone. " ) > > ...Sorry Jecca...
