Guest guest
Hello, Bad breath, or halitosis, is an unpleasant odor emanating from the mouth, usually caused by some health problem in the mouth, teeth, gums, throat or gastrointestinal tract. Other problems may be smoking, liver disease, and poor protein digestion. Certain smells are associated with specific disease, for example a metallic smell may represent diabetes or an active metabolism undergoing rapid weight loss. Sour smells may represent stomach problems or tumors. Orthodox physicians do not agree that halitosis may represent intestinal problems, but anecdotal evidence by many alternative practitioners finds differently. Bad breath may also be caused by chronically infected sinuses, tonsils, or lungs. Guest guest
What is his diet like? Heavy meat and cheese eaters (little veges and fruits) that enter a state of ketosis will have a rotting fruit kind of breath. > Hi, . I need some info on halitosis. Guest guest
Hi, I too have halitosis, though it is getting better. When I am near people (on the bus, tutoring kids, talking to their moms, etc.), I chew on fennel seeds like mad, not an awful lot at a time, but constantly; it seems it helps a lot, re: halitosis, though I never asked anyone (lol) I find it also helps with digestion. Someone suggested clove; I remember now taking that as a breath freshner years ago and it really helped. (Maybe chewing on a clove through the day, taking a new one when the old one is too old/all gone will help? Fran

Do you swallow fennel seeds? I like cloves because you on need one at a time and it seems to last very long. I also drink clove tea twice per day. I think it really helps first thing in the morning and possibly after brushing at lunch. How long have you been on the candidia diet? >

Guest guest
Not all breath problems originate in the mouth. Many people with sensitive stomachs also have bad breath. Also, some meds add to the problem. Valerian is one that stinks. I sometimes get it from the multi I take. It can depend on many other factors as well, such as constipation. The thing I'm noticing is that my hair has gotten stiff and needs cleaning more often. I have a 3 inch butch when I get up in the morning and my hair has always been silky, wavy and very self managable. I think some of the toxins are coming out there. AND body odor is different, not foul, but stronger. Bathing and hair care has to happen almost daily now to keep feeling good. ----- I have hep c and am thinking of starting Interferon treatment, I have been putting it off due to my job, but I have made up my mind and I don't want to die, therefore; I can't afford to wait, my liver is still ok.I have noticed that my breath is getting worse, my dentist says I don't have any cavities, I went to a gum specialist and I don't have gum disease, so I went to a halitosis MD in Mill Valley Bay Area and after an examination and $900.00 came out with and electric tooth brush, an aqua floss, a nasal irrigator, special tooth paste, oral rinse, tongue scraper, a liquid to brush my tongue with, however; my breath is getting worse, I drink lots of water, chew on Eclipse gum.I am desperate, has any body else experience this problem, and if so what can I do about it?Today I read about Milk Thistle being good for the liver so I order a bottle, I also read about a recipe to clean the liver which should be used for ten days each change of season, is as follows:Drink one cup of fresh orange juice, add some lemon juice to give it a kick.1-2 cloves of garlic, grind some fresh ginger1 tbl spoon of good quality olive oilFollow by drinking 2 cups of cleansing herbal teaDo not eat or drink for 1hour I am very upset and desperate about my breath problem, please write to me and share any similar experiences and possible remedies.Thank you for your support. Guest guest
The following is what I read while researching , halitosis can be a sign of liver problems ....here ya go : Halitosis can be a manifestation of chronic gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is important to review the medications you are taking and your current diet in addition to meticulous oral hygeine. Chronic lung disease, liver failure, uremia (kidney failure) and diabetic ketoacidosis can all be associated with bad breath. If your bad breath is mostly secondary to gastroesophageal reflux it should respond to medical therapy with histamine receptor antagonists (such as ranitidine) or proton pump inhibitors (such as omeperazole). It is also important to adhere to anti-reflux measures. halitosis I have hep c and am thinking of starting Interferon treatment, I have been putting it off due to my job, but I have made up my mind and I don't want to die, therefore; I can't afford to wait, my liver is still ok.I have noticed that my breath is getting worse, my dentist says I don't have any cavities, I went to a gum specialist and I don't have gum disease, so I went to a halitosis MD in Mill Valley Bay Area and after an examination and $900.00 came out with and electric tooth brush, an aqua floss, a nasal irrigator, special tooth paste, oral rinse, tongue scraper, a liquid to brush my tongue with, however; my breath is getting worse, I drink lots of water, chew on Eclipse gum.I am desperate, has any body else experience this problem, and if so what can I do about it?Today I read about Milk Thistle being good for the liver so I order a bottle, I also read about a recipe to clean the liver which should be used for ten days each change of season, is as follows:Drink one cup of fresh orange juice, add some lemon juice to give it a kick.1-2 cloves of garlic, grind some fresh ginger1 tbl spoon of good quality olive oilFollow by drinking 2 cups of cleansing herbal teaDo not eat or drink for 1hour I am very upset and desperate about my breath problem, please write to me and share any similar experiences and possible remedies.Thank you for your support. Guest guest
Yes, that’s true. Sometimes sinus problems can cause a smell, as well. Interesting what you say about detoxing through your scalp and skin. Is that the treatment medicine coming out that way, do you think? Or from the illness? I’m sorry, can’t remember what treatment you are doing. Nikki Not all breath problems originate in the mouth. Many people with sensitive stomachs also have bad breath. Guest guest
I want to thank all of you for responsing so quickly to my questions. Today I schedule my appointment with the gastro MD, on March 29th,I also made an appt with my medical MD to get on antidepresants,I will ask him about Fibromyalgia, because I have been reading that it can be secondary to hep c, and for the past two weeks I am exhausted and wake up with a pain level of 8 or 9 on my joints, ie: elbows, hands, wrists, shoulders and knees. I'll keep you guys posted about the outcome.
