I am having a little trouble figuring out what I can eat, if I only need 60 g of protein a day etc. Thanks!

Within the Candida Diet & Shopping Lists & All About Foods Folder see the Folder Candida Food & Menu Suggestions. Also see our Recipe Folder. Bee's Raw Egg Drink is fantastic; it's under Drinks & Teas in the Recipe Folder. Luv, Bee
Guest guest
Hi , Here's a page I stumbled on that could help; http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/boarddiets.html As for me, I usually have 2 eggs, a chopped onion, a ton of minced garlic fried in liberal butter or CO for breakfast, with a cup of decaf containg about 2 tbsp CO and some *fake cream* (see recipe file under milk subs). If Im more humgry I throw some meat in with the eggs, if Im in a hurry I make some hard boiled eggs and take with. If IM not in the mood for eggs I do meat and veggies (almost always with onion and garlic - I eat A LOT of onion and garlic). For lunch lately its been a huge salad with chicken and dressing that I made from nourishing traditions (cookbook - look in your library). My dressing is a raw egg, a clove of garli minced, dry mustard, anchovies, lemon juice, cabbage rejuvelac (2 tbsp?) and olive oil (3/4 C?). I go thorugh a lot of this. Dinner is usually meat and veggies. I havent calculated how well Im meeting my ratios (based on height). But Ive ballparked it and seem to be in the park. I find I can tell when Ive had too much meat or fat, I dont think I get too many carbs. Sometimes Ill have just a little meat with a meal and really have a pile of fatty veggies. I also eat CO out of the container sometimes if Im heading out for a few hours and dont want to worry about getting hungry. I make all my condiments (easy and yummier); ketchup, dressing, salsa, mayonaise... hth jessica > > Bee and others, > Is there a sample menu for a day's worth of this diet anywhere? Guest guest
Hey Jess and listmates, Thanks! I am allergic to eggs, which is highly unfortunate because I love them! But I do have the Nourishing Traditions book, which is a great resource. Your list really helped, though. I love veggies and was afraid I was eating too many of them. I have cut way back on bad carbs and only seem to miss them when I am PMS-ing. Most of my carbs are from veggies. I cook with all CO and use olive oil on salads, veggies etc. I am trying to lose ten pounds and have heard that eating CO will help that - do you know if that's true? I was thin for years when I was sick, mostly (I think) from malabsorption. Now that my gut is healed and I am actually absorbing nutrients, I have to adjust my food intake. My biggest challenge right now is breakfast! I need protein then. lunch is usually tuna and veggies with olive oil dinner is CO and veggies with chicken or pork snack is popcorn with CO my goal is 60 g protein a day I think my fats are way too low but I am not used to the idea yet and am worried about gaining weight instead of losing if I up my CO. I love CO, though. thanks!
Guest guest
I could use coconut milk (since I am allergic to eggs) as a breakfast basic - any suggestions as to what I could add into it for a little protein or other nutrition? Or is that a bad idea?
Guest guest
How do you make your chicken and fish tasty without the sauces/spices everyone else uses? ~susan w~ <peacefulmeow@...> wrote: Hey Jess and listmates, Thanks! Beanzie - What makes you think I don't use some of those? I do use the dried mustard and cayenne and spices others use. Since I no longer have candida, I can also use a few marinades that are not " perfect " on the diet. Plus, my tastes are pretty simple and I am OK eating the same thing for days at a time
Guest guest
I normally have some sort of meat in the morning, that really seems to give me the most lasting energy through out the day, A lot of times I'll eat some home made soup, or something like that, but fish, poultry or red meat is my favorite. I have a lamb and turnip soup recipe that is especially good for breakfest _________________________________________________________________ Try Search Survival Kits: Fix up your home and better handle your cash with Live Search! http://imagine-windowslive.com/search/kits/default.aspx?kit=improve & locale=en-US\ & source=hmtagline

There are a lot of misconceptions about allergies; your body has one immune system and one way to react to toxic substances OR to good unadulterated healing foods like eggs. When your body gets foods it needs it will cause healing reactions. Healing reactions are exactly the same symptoms as allergic reactions - See our Allergies Folder for a more thorough explanation. All allergies tests are inconclusive and most labs even use contaminated antigens. That's in the article too. The trick is start on a small amount and gradually increase it. You don't want to avoid good healing foods that help your body so much. > I am trying to lose ten pounds and have heard that eating CO will help that - do you know if that's true? I was thin for years when I was sick, mostly (I think) from malabsorption. Now that my gut is healed and I am actually absorbing nutrients, I have to adjust my food intake. ==>Yes, CO helps you lose weight - our moderator Debby will tell you how it's helped her lose over 100 lbs. > > My biggest challenge right now is breakfast! I need protein then. ==>Try Bee's Raw Egg Drink, but because your body is creating healing reactions start with 1 raw egg yolk at first and gradually increase them. It also contains good fats and it's delicious - see our Recipe Folder, under Drinks & Teas. > > lunch is usually tuna and veggies with olive oil > dinner is CO and veggies with chicken or pork > snack is popcorn with CO > > my goal is 60 g protein a day > > I think my fats are way too low but I am not used to the idea yet and am worried about gaining weight instead of losing if I up my CO. ==>See the Candida Diet Folder - there's another folder " Fat Facts " and read the article " Taking the Fear Out of Eating Fat. May I request that you put your name at the end of your messages for our blind member, Maddalena. She'll love you for it. ==>There are lots of ideas in our Recipe Folder. One of our moderators is a professional chef, Suz. She's away right now, but she's created a lot of recipes for us. Luv, Bee P.S. Actually I've been losing very steadily on coconut oil.. it really helps! One time I ran out of coconut oil and just used olive oil instead for three weeks, and after 8 months of regular loss I just stopped losing those whole three weeks! I was very frustrated, trying to figure out what happened, and then I remembered I hadn't had any coconut oil. I ran out and got some, the next three days I lost 4 pounds! > lunch is usually tuna and veggies with olive oil > dinner is CO and veggies with chicken or pork > snack is popcorn with CO Popcorn is not allowed on this program, so if you are eating it would explain why you aren't losing weight. This type of program if you cheat at all you will get really bad results. Low fat and low carb do not mix at all. > my goal is 60 g protein a day > > I think my fats are way too low but I am not used > to the idea yet and am worried about gaining weight > instead of losing if I up my CO. You'll definitely gain if you are mixing the fats with popcorn. You will not gain weight, and if you don't believe me then look up how successful Atkins was as a diet doctor, and his diet is high fat! Atkins himself talks about candida in an entire chapter in his book, and has special restrictions for those who have candida. Not only that, but an anti-candida diet is even MORE effective for weight loss than a regular low carb one.
