No, juicing is not good because it releases sugars too quickly into the system unless you have lots of fats along with it. There is nothing contained in any juices that you can't get from proteins and fats. Bee

I'm confused about your stance on juicing now that I have a little more information. If I were to juice, I'd juice the veggies that are on the plan, and then I'd poach meat (either beef or chicken, likely) in that juice. My mom does this all the time (but she adds some rice to it too), and it makes a lovely soup. It seems to me that juicing, if done under the right circumstances, could be a good tool for some of us. Yes, the fruit and vegetable juices that you buy in the stores are garbage, but it doesn't seem to me that one would have a problem with freshly juiced veggies for use in purees and soups to up the nutrient ante, especially since juicing also releases the soluble fiber. (This is REALLY evident when you juice pineapple which has a lot of soluble fiber. The juice is thick and slimy like you stirred in some psyllium or something.) I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm just trying to understand because I intend to get a juicer to use for my kids and husband, and I'd like to juice vegetables on occasion to supplement my diet. in IN

It's now soup cooked with proteins and fats. Bee

It's now soup cooked with proteins and fats. Well, that clears it up. It was a matter of semantics for me, I guess. I knew you were against " juicing " , and I took that to mean that we couldn't use vegetable juice. Thanks! in IN
