Also, why is it good to flush. It feels awful!! ==>, the fact that you get a flush means that the niacin is working. It actually opens up (dialates) all your blood vessels, including the tiniest capillaries, which release toxins through your skin. The flush is mainly caused by radiation (usually from the sun) being released and that is exactly what you want it to do. Your reaction times will vary and that doesn't mean anything is wrong. I suggest you take 50 mgs or even 25 mgs at a time instead of 100 mgs to lessen your reaction. Bee

Some mornings I don't flush, some I flush within an hour, and today I took it at 10 am and it's now 3:30 and I am all flushed. Does anyone know the explanation for this? Guest guest
I have read multiple times about niacin that is " flushing " and " non- flushing " . Can someone explain to me what this means?

Guest guest
I didn't see the original context for this question but I shall comment about it anyway. Avoid time release niacin, for some people it is very toxic to the liver. Dr. stated that it should be removed from the market because it is so dangerous to those who are succeptable to its effects. > > Does it matter what kind of Niacin? >
