I've recently found that keeping a small container (available at mountainroseherbs.com) of cinnamon in my purse, and licking a little off of my finger helps freshen my breath. Also cinnamon has a ton of health benefits like lowering blood sugar (great for weight loss!) and many others, so I kill two birds with one stone.
