Guest guest
> > I'm sorry to complain - again. I'm getting a full-blown oral thrush reaction again. I've been good, really I have, and have not eaten anything bad. The whole inside of the right side of my mouth has been sore and irritated all around my gums and the inside of my cheek. Then the right side of my lips and cheek swelled up, along with the cracked corner in the lip and sores. Now I'm seeing more white on my tongue. There's no pain (other than soreness and irritation) so I know it's not like an infection in my gums or anything like that. Just more die-off I guess. ==>Yes Gail, symptoms will flare up, even those you've never had before, but they are all healing symptoms when you are sticking to the program. Don't be alarmed. This too shall pass, but it takes time and patience. It's miserable for sure! Lotsa healing ((((Hugs))))), Bee
Guest guest
Pamela, I experience the exact same symptoms. It only happens when I eat to much and to fast. The pain takes two to three hours to go away but I endure it only to teach myself a lesson. By the way, good job on the weight loss. Keep it up Phx Al From: Pamela Squires <squirehaven@...>Subject: I am miserable Date: Saturday, June 28, 2008, 9:22 AM I guess I need to tell someone about this so I can tell If I am going to the dark side. I had my band placed in October 07, I had a goal of 80 lbs wt loss. To date I have lost 40 lbs, seen significant health improvement etc. The only problem I am having is this; When I eat I have pain in my middle back and chest. It dosent hurt when I eat (I do the slow little bites and I dont eat much (1/2 cup most of the time, no drinking with or after meals) About 30 minutes after I eat I start having pain. It hurts so bad and the only relief is to throw up. I end up making myself throwup to get relief. Most of what I throw up is slime, not much food. At night I have to wait 3 hours after a meal to lie down and nothing to drink 2 hours before bed. I even take an extra omeprazole at night to keep reflux at a minimum (sometimes it works sometimes not). I had a fill in January 08 and did fine for several months, but now its getting worse. There are no other symptoms, liquids and softs go down fine but real food does this every time. I see two things that are danger signs: 1) making myself throw up and 2)favoring liquid/soft diets. Guest guest
Hi Pamela,Nina once told me if you can get "bad food in, you can get good food in. 40lbs is amazing, great job!! That is great to see the health benefits also! I have a couple of thoughts/questions. I'm sure you have read about my whole ice cream issue. It was such an easy food to eat and tasted amazing! I had no idea I was abusing it the way I was!! UGH. I have lost 7lbs since I stopped bringing gallons of it into my home to eat. I still have a treat and eat it when I'm out and running errands but no more in my house. I also have that pain in my middle back and yes mine too is alleviated by throwing up. So here are a couple of mind games I play with myself. First- I tell my self that I can have anything other than CLEAR liquids for 24 hrs after a PB! And then I stick to it. I'm so miserable the day that I only get clear liquids, it really deters me from forcing a puke. Second, I eat less. For the most part, I only get that pain when I eat too fast, don't chew enough or take one or two more bites that I shouldn't have. So I really had to cut back. It's amazing to me what little amt I can eat and be satisfied. (not mentally, but physically) :)Just because you had a fill that was working in Jan doesn't mean this isn't due to you being too tight. LOTS of things can change in your body and cause you to be too tight now. Any kind of stress or t.o.m can cause swelling and make issues for you. If all this keeps up, you should consider a slight unfill just temporarily. I know how addicting it can be to just PB and make the pain go away and how easy it is to just eat soft foods that don't cause any pain. It is great that you are reaching out and catching the signs of that horrible cycle before it gets out of control.I hope this helps, keep us posted!!Cyrena DOB: 1/19/07240/135/150 I am miserableI guess I need to tell someone about this so I can tell If I am going to the dark side. It is weird , but I have it for a mo. or so then all of a sudden it fine. Then if will come back and then away again. I was told it was acid reflux and to take pricolex. Did that for like 2 mos. I stopped that and a couple a weeks later I started to fill better. Been eating fine , even spicy. I don't know I'm just going with the flow. I don't regret it at all. I know they say stay away from the dairy and sugar , but when I have the pain I eat a bit of ice cream or a glass of milk and it goes away. I know not suppose to but it stops and its been working and I'm not gaining. I make sure everyday I check my weight to make sure that it hasn't changed do to the ice cream and all. Good Luck !
