Guest guest
Lately I seem to be falling apart. I had lost a lot of weight, was sleeping, and feeling better than ever after being on the diet for a couple of months. I didn't even take one aspirin during my cycle last month. Then I started gaining a little weight back (when I still have plenty to lose), woke up at night occasionally last week, constipation returned, then I got these little blisters, then they got bigger and spread to my arms and legs. Now I am doubled over in bed with cramps. Did I do something wrong? I came up with a new recipe last week with Stevia I had just purchased, but other than that no changes on the diet that I am aware of. Is Stevia bad for you? I thought I had seen that it was o.k. What else could it be? This is miserable! Doesn't feel like retracing, feels like what I used to feel all the time.
Guest guest
For me I am super sensitive to carbs and anything with even the taste of sweetness, including Stevia. If I have stevia too frequently I crave it, so I even have to limit Bee's egg drink to occassional treats. I also found that initially I was eating a large quantity of veggies and protein, larger than was recommended here and that worked for me with my healing and weight loss. However after a long while it stopped working and I started bouncing upwards very slowly. After some great advice from a friend, I lowered that stuff and the weight is moving in the right direction again, albeit slowly. I would start by cutting out any stevia, and also making sure it's 100% stevia and no fillers, and save that for use no more than once or twice a month. Then if you'd like you can email me privately, tell me everything you are eating (better yet keep a fitday journal) and I can try and see if I can help you refine things a bit to get them moving again. It's very important IMO to actually plan out your foods because it's easy to over eat protein or veggies and undereat fat, or undereat or overeat calories. If you just kind of eat what you feel like in the moment without precision, you usually get imprecise results. I also know for me after years of abusing my body in many ways, but most especially yo-yo dieting, I have made myself extremely insulin resistant. Eating this way is the *only* thing that helps me lose weight now, but I can't even *just* do only the diet. I have to make sure I get enough sleep, try and relax and avoid stress, drink enough water and exercise regularly. On a day when I don't do all those things, my weight will bounce up 1-2 pounds. Just going to sleep too late means a weight gain for me. It's very frustrating to have to be so strict - it's a good thing I am so determined. If I do everything just right for 7 days I will lose a pound or two. It's a lot of work, but I got really good at learning how to tweak things that I am doing to get my stubborn body to respond. I don't know anyone really who has more trouble than me, and so what I do is I give people more liberal advice then what I do, then have them scale back based on what changes I noticed the biggest difference with, based on what ever results they are seeing. For me, the single most effective thing that got weight moving for me was changing my ratios - more fat, less carbs and protein. In addition to all the science experiments I have done with my own body, and seeing what works for others, I have been doing a lot of emotional work (and continue to do so) to deal with my relationship to food, setting a routine for myself, dealing with social situations and more. Most people I meet are very lucky as they do not have to do so many steps holistically as I do. When I start telling people what I have done to lose weight I often see their eyes glaze over or their attention wane, because they can't see themselves doing things as strictly as I do them. It was only because I was so desperate that I was willing to do what ever it took to not be where I was. I didn't do it overnight - I took my time developing better habits over a period of a year, and I am still working on it. I stll have my bad days, but the memory of my pain keeps me moving forward always. If you like I can share my experience and give you advice on how to handle some things, various strategies, etc. Don't worry that I'll suggest too much too fast. You make one change at a time slowly until you see results. Then maybe make more changes later. I ask that you email me privately because any advice I give would be highly individualized, based on questions I would ask you and looking at the big picture for you, so would not be very relevant to anyone else here. Guest guest
Hi sk, I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy. Stevia is ok in small amounts but we do have members who don't tolerate it. That could be the case with you. But it's also possible that you are still doing everything right even with the addition of stevia. What you need to remember is that natural healing isn't a linear process. It's up and down and side to side. There are periods of feeling good and periods of feeling bad and everything in between as well. But eventually, the good times do begin to last longer than the bad ones and things start looking up. Please don't let this episode get you down for too long...this too shall pass. Stick with the program and it really will get better. jackie > > Lately I seem to be falling apart... .....This is miserable! Guest guest
I'm sorry you feel so bad I've read elsewhere that you can actually feel great for awhile and then begin to feel bad again. But that you'll get to feeling good again as long as you keep with the lifestyle. I don't know Bee's take on this and I'm sure she'll answer you, but I just wanted to tell you I'm sorry you feel so bad and hang in there Nell > > Lately I seem to be falling apart. Guest guest
Is there any way to tell the difference between regressing and retracing? > > ==>, if you felt like that before it could still be retracing. > > Luv, Bee >
Guest guest
Jackie- Thank you for your response. I am putting the stevia in the cupboard. I will only take it out for special occasions. I was so excited to come up with a dessert that we loved. I never used it in the egg drink, so at least I still have that! Hopefully this won't keep me down long. I upped my VCO intake, and have started rubbing it on my face and arms. The blisters seem to be subsiding- at least there are no new ones that I can tell. This is so much harder than I thought. I fought hard to get over the first hurdle, and was feeling pretty good. I guess that was a false sense of security. I have to remember I am still starting this journey, and have a long way to go. Thank you so much for letting me vent a little, and definately thanks for the input. > I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy. Stevia is ok in small amounts but > we do have members who don't tolerate it. You only know if you are getting worse (regressing) if you do not follow the diet, take the all of the supplements recommended or you have too much stress or run into toxins or all of the above.
