I do not recommend Garden of Life products, except their coconut oil and cod liver oil. Their products are not only very expensive but they contain a lot of ingredients. I prefer the simplier " tried & true " products which are closer to nature. There are several treatments recommended in the Vaginal Treatment article on my website (do a search); alternating douches are best because they get into the folds and creases better. When I had candida I used nystatin powder alternating with non-dairy acidophilus powder. > > Today I broke down in desperation and started Monistat > vaginal suppositories. Apply lots of coconut oil to the region and do sitz baths. Bee
Guest guest
Hi nn, I really feel for you! I went through chronic yeast infections many years ago. Some doctors thought it was yeast, and then I would go to another doctor with my plight and he said it was vaginosis and gave me antibiotics. What I *strongly* recommend you do is whatever doctor you go to, have them actually look at your discharge under a microscope to determine exactly what it is. Don't let them guess by your symptoms. Also, as I understand it, vaginosis usually comes with a fishy smell. I actually had some intense itching and I was certain it was yeast, but the doctor looked at my sample and said that my flora was actually balanced and healthy looking. That sort of was a brick wall to me because then I didn't know what to take. My conventional doctor, in all her wisdom, said for me to take garlic. I did that and my problem went away. This was way back before I was into natural healing, and I did all the diflucan and Monistat & all that. None of it helped me, because while I'm sure I did have a candida problem, one little dose here & there offered me no relief. If I stopped taking my garlic, then my symptoms would come back. I have heard that putting yogurt inside can be very soothing. You might even try a yogurt douche to try to rinse out whatever is still inside that is causing all of the intense burning. I think that even a very diluted vinegar (apple cider) douche can at least change the pH and help. I don't recommend douching as a rule, but it sounds like what's already in there needs to come out! Of course, all of this advice I'm giving, I'm assuming you are 100% on board with Bee's program because that's what you truly need. You can also go to the hfs and look for some homeopathic remedies to get some more immediate relief. poor girl!! Guest guest
Thanks Bee, I agree, the GOL products have too many ingredients in them. Guest guest
Hi nn, I'm not sure if this will help, but you could try... over a year ago I caught herpes from my boyfriend. Now I am living with it just fine, but the first episode was so bad I thought I would lose my mind!! The burning and itching kept me up all night; I thought I would not be able to stand it a second longer! What I finally ended up doing, even though all the 'official' advice says to keep the area as dry as possible, was to put a cool washcloth or even a babywipe on the area when I went to bed. This gave me just enough relief to be able to sleep. I have no idea why it helped, but it did. Not sure if this will be of any help to you or not, since the causes are completely different, but I thought maybe you'd want any suggestion you can get. Good luck to you. Hope you get some relief soon! in Tennessee
Guest guest
Thanks , I do know that water helps, as I have been in and out of the bath and that is the only time I get relief right now, it is awful, it is all swollen up there too!! And when it gets dry, it gets worse, so you make sense. So, tonite I will wet a cotton towel and try what you said, as it is especially bad at night! I dont dare put another treatment up there right now! Thanks, nn --- <kentucky_sal@...> wrote: > Hi nn, > > I'm not sure if this will help, but you could try... > over a year ago I > caught herpes from my boyfriend. Guest guest
nn, Even if a wet cloth does help (and that was nice advice ), please don't sleep like that. Yeasty beasties like warm, damp environments to grow in. If it is comforting, just put it on for a bit. And along those lines, ice packs might feel good too! Guest guest
nn: This has happened to me. I know how terrible it is. (I actually tried Monostat once and had a terrible reaction to it ... it felt like I had douched with acid.) My last really bad yeast infection did not leave until I took diflucan for 21 days, even though I was carefully following an anti-yeast diet. This was probably four years ago now and I've been doing much better ever since ... -Kathi > ANyone had an INTENSE vaginal yeast infection that > does not let up?
