Guest guest
Happy Holiday Everyone, I hope everyone is celebrating the Holiday with family and friends, this is a very difficult day for me. Hope you don't mind if I vent a little, for some reason I need to. I had a disasterous food day, I'm not proud for what I've done, I'm ready to re-group and re-focus. Out of the year this is the only day when I sit back and think how wonderful it would be to be able to see all Christmas decoration that I hear about. I know I should know better...........LOL On the positive side, I'm not as sice as I would normally would have gotten before starting Bee's diet. So far I haven't had any discomfort whatsoever, bloating, mental fog,............. I'm not proud of what I've done but what I'm happy about is that I'm getting better and I must get back on track and stay focus for the upcoming holiday (the New Year) celebration. I feel much better alread, thanks for listening. Maddalena

Maddalena I have to agree. I did much better this year than I have other years. I followed my plan to stray only 1 day rather than the whole " season " . I stayed away from the candy and made sure I ate plenty of fats to accompany the peach pie. My family is growing accustom to me taking the bones (which I think is cool). This time I got a huge ham bone. I should have plenty of soup for the New Year which will help alot. Thank you for all you contribute to our group. You have inspired me. In 2007 I am going to grow chocolate mint and make chocolate mint coconut oil and think of you! " May you and those you love remain strong in body and be free of disease. My those who suffer from injury or illness recover quickly and completely " {{{{Hugs}}}}} to you Maddalena. Pat Brogan

Don't be hard on yourself for cheating, sometimes this is exactly what we need to help us forge ahead and maintain this challenging plan. I am pleased to hear that you did not get as sick as you normally did, I also deviated from the diet with a piece of decadent cheesecake and it really didn't phase my system at all. This tells me that all my hardwork is paying off. I can remember when I had butternut squash over the summer and the next day I could not get out of bed, I had a squash hangover! So keep up the good work and pretty soon we will be celebrating your one year anniversary. Mine is in Feb, won't be long. Shirley
Guest guest
Dear Shirley thank you for thinking of me, unfortunately, I'm not doing too good, I did let my depression get the best of me. However, it's not as bad as it could of been or was in the past, all the hard work is paying off. I'm happy to hear that the cheesecake you indulged on didn't affect you in a negative way, keep up the good work. As a friend told me this is the year to be healthier. With Bee's help we all can look forward to a better and healthier lifestyle. Thanks Bee for all you've done and will continue to do for us all. My one year anniversary will be a month after yours, in March, looking forward to celebrate for sure. :-; Happy New Year Everyone, may God Bless you All. Guest guest
Maddelena, If you dont mind my asking what did you do to make you feel this way? Was it something you ate? I am asking just because i am beginning this new way of life slowly and trying to understand the benefits. toni v __________________________________________________

Guest guest
Hi There, if you are asking why I got depressed, the reason is I had way too much free time on my hands and started to feel sorry for myself. I.e: I would hear about all the Christmas decoration that I can't see. My father died 3 years ago and a lot of memories came back to be. Most of my friends were busy with their families which I can understand, what kept on getting me down was. What are you doing for the holiday? My reply was I'll stay home by myself. But dear don't you have family and friends that could invite you? What's the use on telling people that most of my friends were busy or out of town. As you can see the situation snowball and I got more and more sorry for myself. My advise to you is, stick to Bee's diet and in no time will not have to face the depression. I know I've being there than that. Good luck, my friend. Guest guest
maddelena, I am so sorry that you went there. I had something similar happen so i can understand. It's hard for some of us at the holidays and it's not always like the Folger's commercial. The holidays are unhappy times for some of us who have lost someone dear to us and we all feel that pain. And you are right, for some the holidays are better times than for others. My daughter said to me this year, the holidays are kinda fake at times because we are all not happy and we have to act like we are. I personally cant wait till they end! It has beena bad year for our family and we are not celebrating but trying to get thru this holiday. it's new years eve and not everyone is out celebrating. But there is always someone worse off than you and me. A friend of ours just called us today and told us his dad fell down a flight of stairs and is now clinging to life tonight. That helped us put it into perspective. Maybe ours is not the picture perfect, but we will get thru and move on. Others will not. I am quiet content at times being alone to reflect on my own thoughts. Try to find contentment in this holiday and stick to the diet ( haah) that will give you something positive to thin about. It is nice getting to know you and just know you are not alone! toni v __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I'm so sorry Maddalena! Someone spoke about hearing someone worse off than you and cheering them up so if it can make you feel better, I haven't had a Christmas in well over 10 years! By no Christmas I mean always alone, no love, no invitations even though people know I'm alone and could use a free dinner, LOL, no gifts, no wishes, no tree, no decorations and barely one card from a complete stranger! Most holidays I remember as going hungry as somehow means to get groceries tend to run out at the same time this month! This year I don't even have TV so I have no idea it's Christmas! (But the good part is I'm missing all the food commercials! And by luck, I've had food this um...holiday.) So I've learned to tune it out. I used to get severely depressed every Christmas, wanting someone to care about me. Then I was numb and now I'm just indifferent, it's like people that say " Christmas " speak a word in a language that's been completely erased from my memory banks. I have no idea what it means like to have a " Christmas spirit " and I'm okay. I'm just glad I got Bee here for all the good information and support and all of you to read and share our experiences and sometimes a little laughter too. My life isn't going anywhere fast so I guess it's not a big deal when it's be over. It's been one pathetic rerun, LOL! (I'm not saying this out of pity, it's just a realistic fact that no longer affects me one way or the other. If I can't do anything about it, I might as well be Zen about it and not be affected in either direction anymore). Also the fats removed my depression better than 5-HTP! Happy New Year to you Maddalena, to Bee, Jackie, all the Debbys and everyone that I've had the pleasure to chat with by email and/or entertain here with my silly posts. That is a bit of happiness I take with me so thank you all! Chris.
