Guest guest
Sounds great Elyse! Right now I'm so broke can't even afford a mug! I just realized if this does involve boiling water I can't make it: we have no mugs or ceramic bowls! All we got is plastic bowls for mixing and my roommate and I exploded a glass the other night while making magnesium with boiling water. No can do! How about if I pierce the egg on both ends, sprinkle some pumpkin pie spice on the back of my hand, lick, bite into the 2 fats, and chug-a-lug-me a raw egg sensation? A girl's gotta get creative sometimes! Bottoms up! Chris.
Guest guest
I was in the same boat which is why I didn't have a blender for a long time either, simply couldn't afford it. I eventually managed it because I need to puree foods and the older type of blenders are too heavy for me to lift. is right, freecycle is just the type of place to get a blender, as well as mugs and dishes, you name it, it's amazing what you can find there. If you want to pour hot water in a glass, then you can wait for it to cool a little or put a spoon in the glass before you pour the water. The spoon will absorb some of the heat and prevent the glass from breaking. A friend of mine pierces the end of an egg and sucks it right out of the shell everyday. I don't see why you couldn't have it that way and have the fats in addition (the stevia is only for taste, not necessary). Guest guest
Thanks and Elyse! I never heard of a freecycle before. I only knew of craigslist. I clicked the link and it's a group for my city! OK, I just joined and need to wait for approval. Thanks for letting me know! Well, I keep joining groups lately! Here's to living online! No can do! ==> if you plastic bowl is strong enough you can make the egg drink in it, and if all else fails mix it in a pot. > > How about if I pierce the egg on both ends, sprinkle some pumpkin pie spice on the back of my hand, lick, bite into the 2 fats, and > chug-a-lug-me a raw egg sensation? I'm still laughing. Luv & Hugs, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Debby, Regarding the bullet breaking down - I've been wondering about this. I use it so much everyday that I was wondering how much life it would have since things aren't made to last these days. The guy I bought it from told me something interesting. He said when you use it, don't run it for a long time, pulse it instead. He said it's happened to a number of customer where they were running it and it just stopped. He said that after it cools off it would work again though. However, like you I don't trust the craftmanship these days, er.. it's not actually craftmanship at all nowadays. I was thinking of use something else for my egg drink and use the bullet for pureeing food where it needs something more powerful, but I don't have room for more stuff. What are you using now instead? On 12/24/06, Debby Padilla-Hudson <debbypadilla@...> wrote: > You know I also love the bullet, except that I've had > three of the bases break on me! Hi, Yes I read all of the instructions when I first got the bullet and one of the things it said is it can stop working because it heats up. And yes I tried it again, and also I never just let it keep running. The instruction manuals say never more than 2 minutes and I never let it run more than 30 seconds.. never needed to. The darn things are just crappily made so for that reason I can't recommend them, but they do a great job while they last. > What are you using now instead? On the occassions when I do Bee's egg drink I have a bulky glass jar blender that I got for my wedding. I make the same thing every day anyway so no need for the bullet anymore, but what I really wanted it for was for making my son's foods. Now that he's into solids more it's not too necessary.
