Guest guest
I've been doing really well lately and not as many die off symptoms and feeling a lot better. Oral thrush is almost gone - still a slight white coating on the tongue though. But I've been constipated for weeks. I take magnesium capsules at night so that I can " go " the next day. Every once in a while I won't take them to see if I can eliminate without them, but so far no luck. I did cut back a little bit on fat because of all the die off I was having, but still eating a lot re coconut oil, butter, olive oil, plus fatty meats. Is it that I need more fat to get rid of the constipation or something else I need to do? Gail

To avoid constipation it is important to keep the fat and protein ratios in balance according to the ratios recommended, or it will cause constipation. Ensure you spread out your fats during the day, having it with each meal. To increase fats without die-off increase extra virgin olive oil which won't cause as much. Start meals with a couple of tablespoons or more. Fats will help your constipation but also ensure your digestion is up to par - have you done the stomach acid test in the Digestion Folder? Sauerkraut with every meals helps aid digestion wonderfully. Keep up the good work Gail. Bee

I haven't been real good at calculating my ratios lately due to time constraints and it is very time consuming for me to figure everything out. I know I have to get better at this. I just wish I could find a printable gram chart - I've searched and searched to no avail. I started a chart in excel but never finished it. I haven't done the stomach acid test - so off to read the folder on that. I'll try all your suggestions, except the sauerkraut. Just the smell of it makes me gag LOL. I keep getting new die-off symptoms, but not usually too severe so am happy about that. Thanks, again. Gail
Guest guest
hi gail constipation has been one of the tough ones for me in the past (as well as IBS stuff - yuk). i did the diet religiously, and felt most of my candida symptoms reduce greatly, including the runny part of IBS (sorry, gross) as well as a general overall feeling of better health, but i was always struggling to " stay regular " . bee reminded me that the supplements are very important for that. i couldn't get them all, but when i started up on daily mag citrate/cal citrate and a good b complex it really helped. i stayed on them every day for quite a while and found that when i ran out and didn't have the funds to get more immediately, my body still did well on its own! i still suffer with the constipation occasionally, some of us are just more prone to it. my mom's side of the family actually calls it " the family curse " ! i also find that having a big bowl of vegetable soup, well salted, first thing in the morning will often get things moving. sometimes a little too well and i'll need to stay close to the loo for a few hours! its actually doing a form of salt water flush - which sends the salty liquid through the pipes at a pretty rapid rate (without the body absorbing extra salt - it comes through with the liquid). great to hear of the other good progesses you;re making. hang in there, and do give the supplements a try. you may not need them forever, they're just a great boost for the whole system in this healing process. ~ suz > > Is it that I need more fat to get rid of the constipation or something > else I need to do? > > Gail >

I am going to try the soup! I still haven't made any (just am so disorganized with everything I'm trying to do right now). I had been taking all the recommended supplements for years already with the exception of a couple that I've now added. So I'm good in that dept. I have had constipation problems for quite a few years, but looking back, it really started when I put myself on a low fat/high carb diet. Prior to that I never had any elimination problems. Though I also contributed it to getting " older. " I was able to regulate it pretty well with occasional supplement of magnesium and aloe vera juice. Sooooo, I'm trying the soup for now and try to remember eventually it will normalize. Gail
Guest guest
hi gail i notice you said the problems started when you went low-fat/high- carb. i just want to remind everyone here that our candida diet is the opposite of that = high fat/low carb. hopefully you're on that track already. just wanted to clarify for others who may be new and just joining in ... hope the salty vegetable soup helps you. let me know what happens. i'm interested to hear how other peoples' bodies react to the soup method. mine is practically infallible when it comes to salty veg soup. ~ suz **snip** I had been taking all the recommended supplements > for years already with the exception of a couple that I've now added. > So I'm good in that dept. Sorry - I did not mean to confuse anyone. I was on the low- fat/high carb diet before I found out I had candida. I've been on the candida diet for a couple months now. Since I've changed to the high fat/low carb diet I am amazed at how many of my physical complaints have disappeared. The constipation problems were off and on prior to going on the Candida diet and mostly associated with diverticulitis. It improved the first couple of weeks on the Candida diet and then got worse to where I can't go at all without taking something to help it along. But since everything else is improving I'm sure this will too - as everyone is assuring me and if I follow the diet and suggestions offered.
