My Dad came over to my house this evening and wanted to know how I

fared after drinking coconut water on Saturday. He said he drank a

cup of it and he had diarrehea very bad. I had about 1/2 cup and it

didnt phase me at all. He has ulcerative colitis, but I've also heard

coconut oil is a dieretic. (Forgive my horrible spelling) What

features of coconut oil would've given him the diarrehea? Did he get

diarrehea b/c of his ulcerative colitis or because it is a dieretic

and he just consumed more than me?

==>Coconut water is healing so it will help his body get rid of toxins,

and toxins are eliminated from the intestines by diarrhea. It is very

common for people like your Dad to get diarrhea from coconut water or

coconut oil, and they think they are allergic to it, which is not true,

and it is not because it is a diuretic. He should first start on this

diet and supplements, along with digestive suggestions and only start

with 1/2 tsp 3 times per day of coconut oil - it's better than coconut

water - and very gradually increase it. This program will definitely

help your dad's ulcerative colitis - he particularly needs to eliminate

processed foods, grains, sugars, and bad oils and fats. He must have

butter, coconut oil and other good fats which strengthen and heal the

intestines.
