Guest guest
Ever since I started on this diet several months ago my hubby has been more or less along for the ride since I am the family cook. BUT he stills eats alot of stuff I wish he wouldn't; bread, sugar, chocolate, fast food, drinks alcohol, etc, all in small amounts but nonetheless, when something is toxic, it's toxic. Nonetheless, his diet has greatly improved, since he eats with me probably two out of every three meals. In addition, I have recently added herbal teas to our daily regime (dandelion and burdock roots, dandelion leaf, red clover, alfalfa and nettle mix). This weekend, he has been feeling funky...says he feels nausaus (spelling?)and tired and has had alot of diarherea (spelling again?). Anyway, my question is: what is the likelyhood that he is actually experiencing a healing reaction as opposed to actually being ill? (He thinks that we both must have some water born pathogen from the spring water we drink, as I've had diarhea for several months now; I'm fairly certain mine IS a healing reaction, especially since I feel good). Second question: for years now, I have drunk over a gallon of water everyday (sometimes 1 1/2 per day), not because I am forcing myself, but because I am really thristy. I've never thought too much about this but recently have put it together that I have or have had some symptoms of kidney issues (low back pain, pain in knees per TCM) which is why I've added burdock root to my herbal teas. Anyway, do you suspect the thrist is a symptom of a problem, and if so, is there anything in addition to the candida program and herbal teas I might do to help? Thanks to all of you. Guest guest
I'm new to this group, and you don't know me, but extreme thirst and low-back pain (and yes, the knee thing too), is highly indicating of adrenal problems. Your adrenal glands are responsible for your electrolyte balance via production of aldosterone. My chronic low back pain has disappeared 99% since I have addressed my adrenal problems. And there is also research that shows that knee problems are also related to adrenal issues (most specifically the right knee, if I recall correctly). So what have you done to address your adrenal problems? Interesting about the right knee...that is where I have a " baker's cyst/swelling " ; the other knee has never had it. Alot of the pain has gone away since I started Bee's diet, but my knees are far from healed and the swelling is still there. But for awhile it was hard on me just to go walking in the woods...now I can backpack again! I would love to address this adrenal issue head on though. Any advice would be appreciated. Guest guest
> > > So what have you done to address your adrenal problems? Hi , This diet will greatly help any adrenal issues that you have. No special supplements or testing are necessary. See the article, " Adrenal Malfunction and How to Improve It " in the Treatments file (files are located on our group website) for several helpful things you can be doing for your adrenals right now. jackie
Guest guest
>There are also some herbals and other supplement blends you can take. One is called Adrenal Health by Gaia Herbs, that one is great, and contains adrenal supportive herbs. Another is called Adrenal Support Plus, which contains B vitamins, DHEA and pregnenolone, which are hormone precursors to cortisol. You also need to eat high protein (animal protein), and take in enough sea salt, avoid stimulants (caffeine, sugar, etc.) and you also need to take in good cholesterol (butter, eggs, etc.) because all our hormones are made in our bodies from cholesterol. Thanks for all the great links! I just checked out the adrenal products, and they are not recommended for pregnant or nursing women; I'm nursing a 12mo old baby and plan to continue for some time, and then I plan to get pregnant again! Anyway, why are they not appropriate at these times? I'm interested in making my own supplements so if there are any particular herbs in those blends you recommend, please let me know. As for diet, sounds like Bee's plan covers all the bases, so I'm good to go there (with the exception of when I cheat....UGGG!! It doesn't happen all that often but when it does, I sure feel like crap!! It would be so much easier if we could just get all this garbage food out of the house, but until my hubby's ready to stop eating it, I just have to deal with it). Yes excessive thirst can be a symptom of kidney problems, but the kidneys are located just above the waist, not low in the back. Pain in the knees and low in the back can be caused by candida toxins and/or cal/mag or mineral imbalances. Drinking " too much " water puts a very heavy load on the kidneys. Mouth breathing also causes excessive thirst and a very dry mouth; correct breathing is done through the nose - see the Breathe Right Folder. Guest guest
Hooray that hubby may be healing!! Maybe eventually he'll stop eating garbage >What is TCM? Mouth breathing also causes excessive thirst and a very dry mouth; correct breathing is done through the nose - see the Breathe Right Folder. TCM = traditional chinese medicine. I was just reading your article about adrenal fatigue and I do have several symptoms; in particular, I've had low blood pressure for years (I recently checked and it was around 90/60) and never knew WHY! I'm going to start doing the physical treatments in addition to the diet (dry skin brushin, heat/cold, reflexology, etc) and see if that helps. As for breathing, I've been breathing " properly " for years...I figured out how much it helps me while exercising (I don't engage in " formal " exercise but I spend LOTS of time in the woods with heavy loads; it's probably quite a site to see little me with my baby and gear in a backpack nearly half my size...wouldn't be able to do it if I didn't breathe in throught the nose and out through the mouth). Thanks again Bee and everyone else. I can't tell you how pleased I am that my hubby my be healing! I really didn't expect it considering the toxins he still consumes. So curing candida should be your main focus. Your adrenals can be helped along the way with certain things but they won't normalize until candida is gone. ==>Some things which help adrenals are: No. 1 diet and supplements; No. 2 detoxifying recommendations, i.e. lemon juice & ocean sea salt drink, Epsom salt baths, dry skin brushing (or rebounding on a trampoline or jumping rope), coffee enemas, etc. - the last two directly affect the adrenals as discussed in my article. Give the diet, supplements and detoxifying methods (the ones you can do) a chance. Dry skin brushing is excellent for the adrenals.
