Hi Sue:

(Sorry this is long...)

So glad to hear you're making progress. Isn't this a wonderful site? I

have learned so much too.

First of all, you asked what else you could do about getting your health

back. Well, it seems to me that you have most of the bases covered re the

Candida - the diet, the anti-fungals - so, you're absolutely right, what you

need now is patience. It's a slow process. But keep up the good work and

hopefully, you'll get progressively better.

You made another comment that " the urgency of the situation has passed " and

mentioned the word " cure " . And I wondered if ou knew that there is no

" cure " for Candida since it's always in our system - you can only get it

back down to acceptable levels. And sometimes to keep Candida at bay, you

have to permanently change your eating habits or it will keep coming back -

and keep getting worse.

I'm one of those people who have always lived to eat. Fresh, crusty

baguettes were my downfall. But after five months of " eating right " , I now

only have bread on a very special occasion. It's up there in the same

category as lobster, LOL - can't afford to have it too often. But the

wonderful thing is - after eating healthy foods for months - if I do stray

from the path for long (like this past weekend staying with friends where I

had little control over the food), I can't wait to get back to eating

yogurt and fresh veggies, yada, yada. (also - No bloating. No weight

gain).

To address your issues with bowel movements. I forgive me for wagging my

finger at you, but you really should try to drink more water. LOL, I'm

laughing because I have the same problem. I always have a cup of tea

hanging around the house somewhere but have to almost force myself to drink

water. Well, I was at my ND day before yesterday and " we " are in the

process of chelating high levels of mercury from my system. Anyway, he

asked me how much water I drank and I counted maybe 3 and then mentioned the

tea. He just looked at me and said, " Try to drink at least 6 to 8 glasses

of plain filtered water a day " . Remember, you're trying to eliminate toxins

(dead Candida) and water is a wonderful " flusher " (s'cuse the pun).

(And besides, if you're up to 2 Tablespoons of ground flax seed, I wouldn't

think fibre was an issue. It might well be fluids.)

And I wanted to say something about you not following s Moritz regimen

to the " T " - for instance patterns of eating and sleeping....

If you are making progress in your fight to feel better, then that's

wonderful. It's a hard road you have taken so congratulate yourself on your

progress (ask yourself how many people you know who could stay on the

Candida diet for a month. Ha!). And don't worry about the things you

haven't done. I too, have read s Moritz book and learned quite a bit.

But, for instance, from the moment I read the chapter on sleep patterns, I

knew that this is a step I might never be able to take. And believe me, I'm

not beating myself up over it.

Because, as has been stated so many times here on this forum, everyone is

different and what's right for a hundred people, may not be right for me.

So I don't slavishly follow any one person's plan or advice - I learn

something from every book I read, every web site I visit - and I adopt what

feels best for me. So do what your gut tells you is right but please, no

guilt (another form of stress and Candida loves stress!!)

I'd be interested in hearing how your first liver flush went (I've been

discussing them with my ND - I guess the Epsom salts flush is a common one).

I am considering doing some down the line but am a tad apprehensive - the

word " nausea " has been mentioned too many times in connection with liver

flushes. LOL

Anyway Sue - congrats again on your progress and to your continued Good

Health - p

Hi there Penny,

Thanks for the great email. I really appreciate that you addressed all

of my concerns. This is exactly what I needed to hear.

I was doing well on the anti-candida diet because I had accepted the

change in lifestyle. As I felt better, my ability to tolerate certain

foods threw me of course because I started thinking there may be a

cure. By telling myself there may be no cure and this is a permanent

lifestyle change, I can gather the strength I need to continue in the

long run.

My 1st liver flush was ok. I did not get too many green stones. I got

a few large ones (3/4inch), a handful of pea size ones, but plenty of

couscous like pellets. Therefore, I plan to try the apple juice (or)

malic acid prep for one week before the next time around. I got a

colonic the following day. I will get a colonic afterwards again.

Maybe preceded by a massage to help me relax and make the process more

effective. (I think for the price of 2 or 3 colonics, you can by a

colema board - if you don't want to make your own). The epsom salts

were very difficult for me to down. I closed my nose when I drank

them. The bad taste only lasted a few seconds after I drank them. It

did not linger. I have no trouble eating lotsa fat, so drinking the

olive oil and lemon juice was no trouble at all for me.

Thanks for the water advice. Maybe I'll try drinking warm water

instead of tea.

I'm really glad to hear that you are feeling so much better. I'm so

happy for you. Keep up the great work and thanks for the valuble

advice. Good luck with chelation. I have a wholistic dentist

appointment on tuesday. we'll see what happens.

take care,

sue.

Sue-

If you are like me, as your liver gets cleaner, you will handle

supposedly off-limits foods better and better. timing is still

important, but i eat more grains now than I ever did. i just don't

eat processed food. Like someone posted earlier, its really the

processed food that gets people.

Thanks . That's very hopeful news.

This has definitely been an educational experience about proper / good

nutrition.
