Guest guest
http://www.basicmineralmakeup.com has some and http://www.marloquinnmichigan.com is introducing a line within a few weeks. HTH, Laurie http://www.HolidayBoxSwap.com Chemical Free Makeup Have hardly worn makeup since losing my job three years ago. Only wear it for special occasions. I need to get rid of the old stuff and would like to replace with chemical free. Any suggestions for a good, inexpensive line? Guest guest
Inexpensive will be tough. But I use coconut oil as my face moisturizer. Antifungal and very good. For cosmetics I use Terressentials. www.terressentials.com Beth Fish <bethafish@...> wrote: Have hardly worn makeup since losing my job three years ago. Only wear it for special occasions. Guest guest
I didn't see any cosmetics sold on here. Where do you get the makeup. Randi

Guest guest
AVC sells Bare Essentuals which is basically powder based and scent free. If you order from them, you can always send it back if you don't like it within 30 days.///Whole Foods sells Dr. Hashunka which is a bit fragranced for me. Guest guest
Thanks, Leigh! Bare Escentuals is on my list to try. Guest guest
I use Neways products, they are not cheap like anything 'natural' but I have yet to find any that are more natural than them. http://www.neways.com Regards Jane
Guest guest
Hi Beth, Inexpensive might be hard to find. Most of the larger health food stores like Whole Foods, Earth Fare and Wild Oats sell " clean " make up and facial care products. Larenim (mineral spelled backwards) is a good line. They have no corn starch like Bare Minerals. This is important especially if you are allergic to corn. Not to mention that it is probably GMO corn sprayed with pesticides. Other lines are Sante, Lagona, Ecco Bella, Lavera. Have fun shopping!! Thanks, Beth Bare Minerals http://www.bareminerals.com/ Sheer Miracle is less expensive. http://www.sheermiracle.com/ I have not used either but my friend has used both. She said that the Sheer Miracle is just as good as the Bare Minerals and even better because of the price. I have heard complaints about trying to match your coloring to the colors of the foundation since you can't try them before you buy them. Guest guest
I've been using Everyday Minerals foundation - http://www.everydayminerals.com - and I think it's wonderful! I tried Bare Escentuals' Bare Minerals and I found it irritated my skin. I have an uneven skin tone but I'm also very pale, and their shade " Fair " is perfect for me. It gives a lovely soft-focus effect. If you prefer cream/liquid make-up, it's very easy to blend some of the powder with an organic moisturiser (or even just sweet almond oil if you like a shiny, dewy finish) as it is very fine. And it's cheap enough to experiment with like that! One of the things I love is that they do a little free sample kit, and they refund the shipping for that. Last Saturday night I went out to the pub and on to a club (which was tough - all my friends were drinking and smoking, and I just had my little bottles of mineral water ... oy) and bumped into a lot of people I haven't seen in a while, and they ALL said how great I was looking. And I can only put that down to good make-up, because without it I look pretty rough!
Guest guest
Thanks, Tammy! Since writing this, I made an appt to have a makeover at Sephora which sells Bare Escentuals, which I guess is Bare Minerals. I prefer getting a makeover since I'm not sure what colors to get. Guest guest
I'm trying to find the makeup everyone is recommending at a nearby store so I can see the product and possibly wear it to see how I look and feel. One I tried the other day made my chin itch a little and my eyes burn a little. Still a lot better than the old, chemical stuff I've worn for years! My inlaws are coming in for their 50th wedding anniversary this week so that's why I want to get it and replace my very old stuff:o) Beth [ ] Chemical free makeup Hi All! I went to a natural spa and tried the mineral makeup and I had a really tough time liking it. I felt like it accentuated all of the flaws in my skin. You have to try it for yourself and see if you like it! I wanted to pass on that the lady at the spa who helped me...told me that Bare Minerals was not as bare as they'd like you to believe and now I can't remember what she said was in it..but it was definitely not all natural. One of the reasons I like Dr. Haushka is that they make an actual liquid base that works better for individuals with bigger pores and/or acne scars. Just my two cents worth! Guest guest
Beth, That's great that you are able to actually try out the make up. I've heard of Zu Zu but not " played " with it yet. Keep trying, you'll find the perfect one for your skin. And when you do, let us know!! Cyndi <<<<<<<<I have an appt this Friday to try the Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals line. Last Friday, I had a makeover with Ecco Bella and Zuzu products. They felt ok. A little itchy on my chin, slight burning on my eyes. I wasn't crazy about the colors she picked for me. She was matching the makeup to my old colors I've worn for many years. I guess I'll just have to try some for awhile to see how they look and feel.>>>> Cyndi *:.,_,.-:*'*:-.,_..-:*'*:-.,_,.-:* *:.,_,.-:*'*:-.,_,.-:*'*:-.,_,.-:*

Guest guest
Heh, it's funny, isn't it?! Receiving compliments and not quite understanding how you can possibly look so good when you actually feel rather crap! And when people ask how I lost all the weight (I was a bit on the chubby side, now my doctor tells me I'm a bit underweight), I say quite sarcastically, " Well, first I made myself quite, quite ill. And now I can't really eat anything except meat, fish, eggs and vegetables, and I have to cook it all myself because I don't trust anyone else to; it's simple, really. " But being serious, my closest friends have noticed such a difference in me - in my general outlook and my stable moods, and in the fact that I don't have CFS any more - that they're looking into proper nutrition as a way of treating their problems too. One of my friends is even doing the same Open University short course in nutrition, starting next month (I'm using it to help me learn to study again, then I hope to get some proper qualifications in the subject). So it's a good thing, in a way, that I got so ill with the candida, otherwise I'd never have ended up learning all this, and being able to share it with my friends. I was talking to one of my mates about this the other day, and I found myself referring to it as " a voyage of personal discovery " . Of course, I then immediately wanted to smack myself because I usually hate the kind of person who talks like that! _____________ I definitely think you should get one of the EM sample kits - it's free, after all. And apparently, if you don't match the colours first time, you can try again with another set of samples (I think I read that on their blog).
