Guest guest
Hi,I am new to this group...I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and also have candida.I am only 22 and was dx with fibo about 5 yrs ago,(only about 5 mo. with candida).I really don't know alot about either condition.Lately my hair has been falling out like crazy,I am starting to get concerned that soon I won't have any left. Also I have been plauged with PMS since I was about 13 or 14,within the last year I have been experiencing alot of " break through " bleeding, the last couple months it has been almost a constant problem all through out the month. Can anyone tell me,are these problems norm for these conditions?or are they something I should be worried about? Can anyone give me some ideas of what I can or can't eat? Thanks for your support. Are there any other young girls with these dx on this group, would love to hear from them also. Guest guest
1) hair loss---I have been experiencing a similar problem with loads of hair coming out but luckily I have lots! lol. When I follow the diet and take a good supplement with trace minerals it seems to slow down but I still shed a fair bit. I've also been experimenting with a little thing called MSM. 2) PMS---I really started to get bad PMS when the candida started to go out of control. Note: never been diagnosed with fibro so can't speak to that. I have found that following the candida diet and drinking lots and I mean lots of water has helped with the bad PMS such as cramps, cloting, sore chest and back ache. Not totally gone but no longer require pain meds and bed rest. As for the breakthrough bleeding. I only ever had that once a long time ago when on BC. Are you on the pill? Most here recommend stopping the pill. I refused to take it for over the last 10 years as I figured playing with my hormones was not the best idea in general. 3. diet---get a good book on a candida diet. The basics as I understand them, and what I've been following, are: avoiding sugar of any form, processed foods as well (if you read the label you'll likely see some form of sugar); avoid vinegar, alcohol, carbs esp simple carbs such as breads and pasta, corn (it's a carb), mushrooms, and nightshades such as tomatoes, nuts, eggs if you react to them, and dairy. Another way to find out what's not great for you is to try an elimination diet. Do a google search on the topic and you can read what that is. What I do eat is meat, lots of veggies esp greens as my body seems to crave these. I use lemons in my water and as a substitute for vinegar. I eat lots of fresh garlic whenever I can as well as onions. I think it was G who recommended concentrating more on what you can eat rather than what you can't. It takes some time to get used to but that was helpful advice. Hope this helps and doesn't overwhelm. Try one thing at a time so you don't freak out too much. Other things I've been taking are coconut oil and aloe gel, cranberry for urinary tract (it's how it all started for me). When such a high percentage, about a third, exhibit a deficiency, and a higher percentage than that, almost 2/3, respond to HGH therapy or amino acids that accomplish the same thing, you'd think it would make his list, particularly when he professes to write what the state of the art is. In fact, HGH therapy is a first line therapy among anti- aging professionals who regularly see fibromyalgia patients and those with other degeneration. Guest guest
> Is this about candida? Or fibromyalgia only? It is about both. These are but two of the many manifestations of the same syndrome that also includes chronic fatigue, and other fun problems. The cure is the same - get an upper hand on protein digestion / utilization, and you will have won the conflict. > --- Pytela <martinp@...> wrote: > > > Please read the article about causes of candida and > > FM. Guest guest
, I am 1 1/2 Years out and my hair is still thin. Part of my problem was low thyroid. I have been taking biotin (sp) a B vit. and I think it is helping. Ruth
Guest guest
mary, Lots of people experience some degree of hair loss at about 3-6 months out. It's thought to be largely from the anesthesia during sugery. The hair starts to re-grow right away - you can feel the short, stubby new shoots at your hairline. http://www.keratin.com/ao/ao007.shtml Your low calorie intake during the brief fluids stage made no difference because your body was pulling all the calories it needed from your body fat - that's how weight loss works. You sound, though, like you're having excessive loss. Have you been careful to get in the 50-60 grams a day of protein we need? Lack of adequate protein can cause hair loss, and there is nothing to do now but improve your protein intake to normal. Extra supplements over normals needed will *not* help more, and can cause kidney problems. It would also be wise to see your family doc - he/she may want to order some tests to rule out medical problems like thyroid deficiency. There are lots of medical rasons for hair loss not associated with dietary deficiency. Sandy RN > > Has anyone experienced excessive hair thinning since surgery? Guest guest
It is from a combo of anesthesia and from weight loss. Some say it is also related to changes in hormones as you lose weight. It will come back. Putting junk on your head or eating weird things won't make a difference. Lots of folks will try to sell you vitamins and other crap to make it grow, but don't waste your money.
