Guest guest
Hi I would get on a large dose of probiotics and a good low sugar plain yogurt. These will definately help the gut. It takes time to heal gut problems, you will have to do it for a long time. <>< ----Original Message Follows---- From: " charchar1974 " <charchar1974@...> Reply-candidiasis candidiasis Subject: new to the group -L:ONG Date: Fri, 03 Sep 2004 18:38:59 -0000 Hello everyone. I hear this group is more active than candida recovery so I'm hoping to get to know some of you. I am 29 years old and was diagnosed with food intolerance/sensitivies last year to about 27 different foods. All the major ones like dairy, corn, wheat, soy, eggs etc. Even lettuce! Last October I cut all the foods out of my diet for 2 months but did not bother eliminating sugar or vinegar type products. I was eating a lot of rice and potatoes as they were my main carb staples. Other than that I was restricted to meat, and citrus pretty much and a few veggies. I felt a bit better but not a whole lot. My biggest problem was this diet put me into a major depression. I felt like anything I was putting in my mouth was possibly poisoning me. Mentally it REALLY threw me for a loop and so I saw an NMT practitioner and with her help slowly started to incorporate all the foods back into my diet. I seemed to be doing okay (no nausea which was my main complaint) however my anxiety went through the roof around that time. Now this past summer I have been experiencing the nausea attacks more and more often. I ran across a 1986 copy of The Yeast Connection that belonged to my mom and it seems to be my problem according to the self-test. However I have a question -I didn't show a reaction to any type of yeast on either my blood or skin testing. Is it possible to be have an overgrowth of yeast and not show a sensitivity to it? Also I've only had one vaginal yeast infection in my life but I understand it can reside in the gut and not the vagina and vice versa. The other things that lead me to believe that yeast is a problem is that I've been on the pill since I was 16. I would love to hear what other forms of birth control any of you ladies use. My husband won't wear condoms without a big fuss and personally I hate them as well! I'm reluctant to stop the pill until I can find a good substitute. Also in the past I've used several rounds of many different antibiotics - some of the prescriptions were finished and some were not. All were for mis-diagnosed bladder infections and this was within a period of about 3 or 4 months that I took several different antibiotics. I also used them at least once or twice a year for sinus infections. When my anxiety got so bad I was popping pepto bismol tablets several tiems a day which I have since discovered are full of aspirin which make your gut more permeable -hence my food allergies I assume. Also in 1999/2000 is all when my symptoms seemed to appear. Increased anxiety, bad waxy coated dandruff that won't come off no matter what I've tried, white coated tongue, hayfever and allergy to cats, toenail fungus, what I thought was IBS but they are more like flare- ups of bad diarrhea every now and then after eating. I was able to link it to popcorn finally but other times it happens after eating random foods that don't always give me a reaction. So anyway this is my story. Sorry to be so long winded! I would love to hear back from any of you. I am currently reluctant to throw myself into another restricted diet until I get some sort of testing to determine if yeast overgrowth is my problem. Any advice? Charisse _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Guest guest
Thanks for responding . Can a person overdose on probiotics? I've been taking them but not a ton of them. Do you think by adding more probiotics and yogurt that this is a good place to start before I start eliminating other foods? Thanks again -Charisse
Guest guest
Have you ever done a parasite cleanse? I've had a lot of the same problems as you do and the yeast diet didn't help much until I started taking anti-parasitic herbs. A lot of the symptoms that we associate with candida can also be caused by parasites. Especially the odd bursts of diarreah with no obvious cause. (I had a lot of that.) Just something to consider. > Hello everyone. I hear this group is more active than candida > recovery so I'm hoping to get to know some of you. Guest guest
Hi Charisse, I am also new to the group. I struggled with yeast infections and related problems for about five years until I finally learned what works for me. First of all, get off the pill ASAP!! It is horrible, in my opinion. When I was on it is when I had the most trouble. It also completely screwed with my emotions and killed my sex drive. I am still bitter. :-( My husband and I use condoms, but I understand about you and your dh not wanting to. The rhythm method is an often maligned method that, contrary to popular thought, does work *when used properly*. My brother- and sister-in-law used it for 3-4 years with success until they decided to get pregnant. I don't know a lot about it other than that. I would check out a book from the library on it if you can. Next, you must cut out sugar, at least for a time! I know it is hard! I love sugar myself, but it will feed your infection more than anything, in my opinion. Try xylitol. It is a natural sugar substitute that tastes exactly like sugar and is not harmful to your health. It actually fights yeast and has a low glycemic, making it safe for diabetics. (If interested, you can find it on my site: www.YeastRemedies.com). It was a dream-come-true for me! :-) My final, and most important tip, is to drink more water--a lot more! The minimum for most adults should be 8 cups. When you have yeast issues, you need even more. Just drink whenever you think of it. I have a lot of other tips, but I have to run. I hope this has helped somewhat! Feel free to contact me directly if you want to: jpapadpapa@.... Take care! le www.YeastRemedies.com www.NutritionTalkNow.com PS--As for allergies, often when you eliminate your main allergy, your body can then handle the smaller ones. From what I understand, if you are consuming a major allergen, your body almost becomes hyper-sensitive. So, if you find out what the major one(s) is, then cutting that out might help with all the others.

Guest guest
le thanks for the info. I don't have vaginal yeast infections though -I'm just guessing I have gut yeast so I'm not sure if your advice would be the same? I really do want to stop the pill. I've read Taking Charge of Your Fertility but I just don't trust myself to use it as a contraceptive. I am not sure I would be able to read the signs in my body (one of the indicators is temp which mine is ALWAYS off). The rythym method failed twice for my husband with an ex so again it sort of scares me. I think I will ask my dr about the IUD or maybe a diaphgram although neither of those really appeals either. As for avoiding my major allergens -well I was MAJORLY allergic to everything. My blood tests showed very high reactions or no reactions at all and this was to about 27 different foods. I do try and cut back or rotate dairy and wheat but I'm even allergic to garlic, onions, lettuce, corn (I do avoid anything with corn syrup added), asparagus, squash, tomatoes (gee I could go on and on). Anyway thanks for responding! I am thinking I'll have a diagnosis done by Great Smokies if I can find a dr who will order the test for me. At least that way I'll know if it's truly yeast or parasites or neither. Charisse
