Guest guest
I have been having many health related issues for many years, mainly several allergies and rhinitis, IBS, GERD, muscle soreness, hysterectomy and thyroid problems to name a few. I was recently tested for food allergies by a blood test and it came back that I was highly allergic to Baker's Yeast. I also tested positive for mold and dust. I was told to stay away from yeast so I started doing searches on the internet for yeast allergies and what comes up most is about candidia. I got the book The Yeast Connection Cookbook and I am starting to read through it. I did score high on the test they have you take so I think I now have this issue. I have recently had a bladder and urinery tract infection but I don't really get yeast infections. Since I tested positive that I was allergic to Baker's Yeast can I assume that I have Candidia? Thanks for any help that anyone can give. I am new to this group and I feel fortunate to have found such a wonderful support group.
Guest guest
Jill, baker's and brewer's yeasts both contain the same type of proteins as candida does; that's why candida doesn't " eat " them and vice versa. Similar proteins exist in wheat gluten, giving rise to many false positives for " gluten intolerance " when it's primarily candida causing the symptoms. Duncan > > I am so confused on this whole yeast issue. I'm allergic to baker's yeast. This is not Candidiasis...correct? So my issue isn't so much what foods to avoid to get rid of internal yeast (although I probably should do that anyway) but instead, what foods can't I eat because I'm allegic to them because they have baker's yeast in them. Some foods list " yeast " in the ingredience but then I was reading Fenster's book and she lists foods that I had no idea contained yeast....but I don't know if she means baker's yeast or if it even matters. I'm just very confused on what foods to avoid that pertain particularly to baker;s yeast. > Thanks > ~Jill >
